Re: Sudden loud rattle, engine cuts off, then restarts after a few minutes

Trying to understand what could cause a temporary loss of compression, 2 things spring to mind. 1. A blockage in the induction system - if you can't get any air in there's nothing to compress Does your car have an air doser intended to shut the intake air when the engine stops? If so could it be fau...

Hello again Paul, Does this help? (Can't get access to ServiceBox anymore but the PSA Asia sites seem to work) https://catalogs.ssg.asia/peugeot/?lang=en#c3Q9PTgwfHxzdHM9PXsiMTAiOiJNb2RlbCIsIjIwIjoiNDA2IChyZXN0eWxpbmcpIiwiNDAiOiJCb2R5OiA0IERPT1IgU0FMT09OIFwvIEVuZ2luZTogMi4wIEhEaSAxMTAgKERXMTBBVEVEKS...

Re: Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

The warning light will normally go out after completing a few journeys with all the sensors connected, may take a few days but don't worry about it. If you could read the error description it would almost certainly report the MAF disconnected as an intermittent fault. 3 - 5 cylces of running the eng...

Re: Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

I don't think those are the normal signs of injector problems - uneven idling, rough running at low engine speeds and possibly poor starting if the problem is serious are more typical. I would not consider injector replacement unless you have more evidence this is the problem. A leak-off test may he...

Re: dpf warning light

+1 on both points. Ignore the glowplug warning, they pretty much all do that. You won't get rid of the low fluid warning without resetting it via PP2k, (which I've personally never managed to do despite several attempts), or doing away with the DPF/additive system. When you experience reduced power,...

Happy New Year all. Good to hear you're both doing OK. Mrs Doggy had a serious health scare having to have a lung nodule removed by keyhole surgery. Thankfully she was home safe within a week and fingers crossed she's OK now. After a dozen or so round trips to hospital in Leicester, I'm really impre...

Hi, great update there. 8)
It's good to hear that your 406 is still going strong despite a few problems. They are really good cars, I miss mine so much.
Enjoy yours for as long as you can.

Re: Switch next to diagnostic port

That's a tricky one - there are many variations of the engine fusebox layout, but as far as I know the OBD port supply is always a (red) 10A mini-fuse. There aren't that many of those fuses in there so you could check them all fairly quickly.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Found myself doing a bit of Pug fettling for a change today - daughter's 307's been complaining of a battery charge fault, "for a few days". The lack of an auxilliary drive belt, courtesy of a broken up tensioner pulley being the cause. (Mercifully it only drives the alternator and a/c compressor). ...

Re: Injector correction values

They are different to the ones fitted to a 2.2, (2.2 = Bosch 04451100 3 6; 2.0 = Bosch 04451100 7 6). The set I removed in 2011 were 'class' 2, replacements were 'class' 3 but it's so long ago I can't remember where this was marked on them. It ran OK before changing the ecu setting to match, but sin...

Re: Injector correction values

Sounds like you're on the right track.
When I had this problem, I had uneven idling and poor fuel consumption. Changing the worst injector made an immediate and obvious difference.
Bear in mind injectors come in 3 'classes' and ideally your ecu should be set to match those you have (or have most of).
