Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

Thank you.
This was a good place to come for some sense.

Well I've made my begging phone call and the answer is no. Sounds like they're running out of money again and were glad to get rid of a bigger salary.

So it would appear that the only way is forward...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

I think all this change is too much for me. I'm back to walking round the house looking for him and crying like I was in March. I think that getting back to work and back into the routine and the silly Citroën was just a way to occupy and distract myself and ignore what happened. I think I have to c...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

New front pads on the Citroen today. Discovered the bleed nipple has been bust off on the driver's side.

Needs rear drop links but can't work out how to lever the weight of them.

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

Indicator is holding up. Have entered some numbers into Diagbox that has stopped the suspension error, so that'll do for now. I subtracted the sensor values from the standard measurements. (I didn't fancy rolling around on the floor in the cold and we to actually measure.) In the mean time 407 went ...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

Broken 3 of the 4 clips off the bulb holder so it looks like a new one of those is in order anyway. Was frosty this morning so didn't dare open the C6 -- pillarless doors like the 406 coupe. Then it started raining and by the time it stopped it was dark so that's my excuse on the height sensor for t...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

It was the party for the current place. The guy I was having the discussion with (he was calling me an arrogant bastard, and I can see why he thinks that because I don't have much patience with stuff that doesn't work (such as big French cars?)) offered an apology on Monday morning. We're probably j...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

It turns out that leasehold is a thing around Manchester and Liverpool; it's normal for the area. Probably too late now to get it done before Chrsitmas, so I'm expecting to be commuting from Telford and staying in the Travelodge :x Got very sloshed at the office Christmas party on Friday and was pro...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

Looks like it's normal for brick terraces in Oldham to be leasehold. Haven't got any more details yet. £36 for a local solicitor to copy my passport and driving licence. Would have been cheaper to just go to Oldham in person. But it would be 5 hours. Clutch and DMF organised for the 407. Spent £650 ...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

Oh flippineck. I noticed today that Oldham house is leasehold and not freehold. I wouldn't have even gone to see it had I known. But it's too late to do anything else so it's that or nothing. Clearly it hadn't worried the other offers. But I'm fretting now because I don't know how long is left on th...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

It was absolutely stuck fast so he split it then welded that nut on. He said the same about the brakes on the 407; MOT advisorys on both. (And I always get the disc worn, pitted, or scored advisory.) The brakes (and quite a lot more bits too) are identical on the 407 and I have actually had them off...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

On the other sh*t: offered on a small house in Oldham. Mortgage company have come back with a valuation £3k under the asking price so if the seller won't budge than I'll have to find it. Irritatingly second hand furniture seems to be much cheaper both in Telford and in Huddersfield than it is in Old...

Re: The wonky £1K citron Citroën

It was indeed drivehafts. The inner joint and the intermediate bearing were absolutely knackered. It had got hot and got itself stuck and took a bit of getting out. Replaced hub with wheel bolt sheared off in it. Juddering now gone... http://www.406oc.co.uk/download/file.php?mode=view&id=3678 ...and...
