Re: Ebay Etc. Just "Run-In" 406s

Nothing significant on mine but it's definitely showing its age. The bsi every now and then seems to have a seizure and the rear wiper starts going crazy, a week ago while driving the alternator stopped charging and mfd started having a fit and the dash started beeping then the mfd said economy mode...

Re: Ebay Etc. Just "Run-In" 406s

It does make me wonder why cars of the mid 90s were so fragile or at least not as loved, I see plenty of stuff from the 80s and early 90s driving around but hardly anything from the later part of the 90s. I remember seeing lagunas MK5 and mk5b escorts mk1 clios and mk3 astras everywhere but haven't ...

Re: Ebay Etc. Just "Run-In" 406s

I assume the amount of them falling it's to do with the cost of a new clutch and flywheel. When you have a car that's only worth £400 or £500 a lot of people won't see the point of paying £500+ to have a new one fitted.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

That's rather poor, I drove 800 miles to visit my parents in central France in my old 1984 2.0 porsche 924 and after working it out was getting 33-34 mpg

Re: Rear wiper problems

Just had the tailgate panel off and there's no relay or related wiring.

Anyone know where the relay board is?

Re: Worsening driving standards

This annoys me too, but on the other hand people do take it as it's my right of way so even if you were there first and part way around the obstruction I'm still coming through. Had some cock in a vectra nearly plough into me while I was passing a line of 6 cars parked on the road. I was passed the ...

Re: Rear wiper problems

Just tried a bsi reset but it didn't work. I'll check the relay next, I believe it's somewhere in the tailgate? I'll pull the carpet up too.

Rear wiper problems

Came out to the gtx this morning, turned the car on and the rear wiper started going on its own. After 5 or so seconds stopped but not in the correct place. This appears to happen every time the car is started. Has anyone come across this before?

Re: My GTX

Managed to find the source of the knocking this morning. Went into ecp but all they had was a starline on the shelf but for £8 I thought sod it i'll use it to eliminate them from list of things it could be. https://i.imgur.com/nppF9ST.jpg Anyway took it home and started to remove the drivers side li...

Re: Front end knocking

Thanks for the help, I went into ecp this morning to see what they had. All they had on the shelf was one starline link, but for £8 I thought f*ck it its cheap enough to use to rule out the that part. Anyway replaced the drivers side and it cured the knocking on that side, so I'll get browsing and o...

Front end knocking

I'm getting quite a loud knocking noise from the front end when on rough surfaces and going over speed bumps. I've had it up in the air but can't see anything worn or loose. Any one have an idea?
