Injector Corrections Continued, New Injectors??

The Saga Continues... The car is a 2001 406 2.2HDI 4HX Engine with 106k it has a remap but the car runs the same with and without! Things I've done so far - Changed all the injectors - Changed the "bad" injectors - Tried a combination of "new"and old injectors together. - Changes injector seals (cop...

Re: Injector Flow Correction? New Injectors

So if we're being pedantic. Cylinder 2 and 3 where the "fault is" would still be the middle two which ever end you look at it. Unless they're decided in their infinite wisdom to label them 1-3-4-2 as in firing order but what wouldn't make too much sense. If injector 2 and 3 are at fault surely it's ...

Injector Flow Correction? New Injectors

So, if we look at my last post we can see the problem - Rough Idle - Chugging from Exhaust - Poorer Economy So I've replaced injector 2 and 3 (middle ones?) with some known good injectors that were pop tested out of a C5 2.2HDI (4HX) so engine, same part number as the originals but with 3s on them r...

2.2HDI Injectors 0445110036

0445110036 Is the Bosch Number OE Number is 9637277980 Would prefer to replace the injectors as a full set. Anyone got a set of low mileage or remanufacturer injectors for a 2.2HDI. They're going for silly money and I'm going back to my LS430 soon. Want it to be running well for selling time in a fe...

Re: 2.2HDI Vibration at Idle, Chugging from Exhaust!

Thanks Gumby. It's just had a tank of V-Power and Forte through it. I've driven it like a nut case, 4,500 in every gear, the amount of black smoke that used to come out and does now other the last few months is less and less. Ran a can of EGR Cleaner through the intake lately too. It's only just sta...

2.2HDI Vibration at Idle, Chugging from Exhaust!

So all of the sudden after a 200 mile motorway journey the car is vibrating at idle (rev needle twitches a bit but it always has) The exhaust sounds alot louder (Throatier and deeper) , but there are no holes etc in it. There is a vibration at idle, it is not severe, but noticable through the steeri...

Re: Is anyone breaking a HDI, I need some advice!

Hi Guys.

Yeah just need an empty canister to pass the MOT.

ATM it's just a straight pipe welded in.

Don't need any of the electrovalves. Swapped the EGR one over with the turbo one and got rid of the rest!

No check engine light happy days

Re: Is anyone breaking a HDI, I need some advice!

Sorry to be a pain.

Also the Exhaust Temp Sensor for the Cat is missing and shows in the fault log.

Same with the Air Doser Solenoid

Is anyone breaking a HDI, I need some advice!

Check Engine Light Again! Turns out the Electrovalve for the turn had gone! Swapped with the EGR and Boost is back just waiting for the light to clear itself since Launch won't! Other problem is from February car needs to have FAP fitted! Previous owner chopped out the Cat and Fap assembly and binne...

Aftermarket Remote Locking and Alarm 2002 406 GTX HDI Wiring

Hey guys, Only got one key with my car and the remote doesn't work. The locks are now on their way out too either spinning or jamming in the drivers and passengers doorlocks  Will get another blank cut without remote function for safe keeping. Can't get RCL to work, BSI always comes up with s...

Sat Nav Removal/New Head Unit

Hi there, The Sat Nav MFD in my car is shot as with most of them, lines all over and a crack in it. I tried the sat nav and even with the synth volume on max it doesn't talk it just mutes the radio and nothing. Obviously with the dawn of smartphones I won't use the integrated function. Can I therefo...

Re: 2.2HDI Limp Mode, PP2000 Diagnostics

The MAP sensor is the one on the side of the ECU box, with the pipe from the intercooler. That pipe is often in very poor condition at the intercooler end - worth a check. Mine needs changing and it's a right git to get to! The thing under the airbox with two pipes is the electrovalve (EV) for the ...

Re: 2.2HDI Limp Mode, PP2000 Diagnostics

I think the problem is solved. I was wondering why there was a small pipe coming off the intercooler which was leaking boost, I thought that's a crude way of venting excessive pressure. A little thinking and I unplugged a sensor which I thought was part of the FAP, turns out that was under the air f...
