Re: Dissasembly of Ignition Barrel

I did one about a year ago and from memory there is two small rectangular wedged that need to be pulled out before the spring clip can be removed. They are very small about 3mm * 4 mm and from memory they are at one end of the clip. Hope this helps

Could be speed sensor on gearbox if its only doing it when the car is moving. Had that issue a few years ago and its an easy fix

Re: Switch next to diagnostic port

I'll have a look the weekend as the weather is bad here tonight. I had a look in the fuse board under the steering wheel but never in the engine compartment.

Re: Switch next to diagnostic port

I have PP2000 but its not great as it came from ebay although it communicates with another 1999 HDI LX that I have in the garage but not with the 2001 110 HDI Executive. The 2001 has a few small issues that I would like to sort but I am unable to make connection with the car. I might buy another PP2...

Re: Switch next to diagnostic port

Thanks for the replies, ya, its probably something to do with the cruise control which I never use. Thought it may have something to do with the OBD port as I seem to have no power supply to the OBD port.

Re: Breaking 406s 1.9td & HDi estates

Hi, I am looking for the heated seats switches, probably the complete unit if you have it that goes under the handbrake. Mine was perfect until i damaged it taking out the centre console.

Re: Multi function display

There is a procedure to be followed when you chance the battery unless you maintain a power source to the car. I suggest you search this forum for the procedure on how to shut down the BSI and restart it again. It may be your problem and worth a try.

Re: Engine temp to hot

Mine is doing the same intermittently for about a year but the engine is not overheating. I need to change the green sensor and take it from there. I read somewhere on this site where the earth wire on the back of the instrument cluster can come loose and cause this problem.

Re: Brake lines

You will need a special brake nut spanner as an open end one will slip. Its basically a ring spanner with a slot to slide over the pipe. Search under brake spanner wrench :)

Re: One door no longer triggers the interior lights

It's the contacts on the actuator and plug in beside the lock. You will have to take off the door card, peel back the door seal and remove some of the linkages to get to it. It should be obvious enough when you see it. It's a white plastic thing rectangular in shape. On mine the contacts had corroded...

Re: One door no longer triggers the interior lights

I had the same issue with a 1999 D9 and i took out the actuator on the door lock and cleaned the contacts with a nail file. It worked perfect for me after. There is a post somewhere on this.
