Re: RHY & RHZ
[quote="GingerMagic"]Can you not just change the head? Surely they are the same part as both engines have same cc? I read somewhere - here probably - that the Hdi engine has weakened rockers which are designed to break before allowing valves to smash into the pistons. As MMM says, maybe check rocker...

Re: RHY & RHZ
I have a 2004 406 110 HDI and we think it has dropped a valve due to a loud banging when running and when the guy up at the garage put the car in the air he said it was loud through the intercooler pipe! I have a 90 HDI complete from a 1999 V sat in the garage and I just wanted to know if it will go...

RHY & RHZ
I'm sure this has been asked before, but will a RHY go in to a RHZ?

Rad fan not working.
With this burst of warm weather I've gone and had my AC gassed up. Great all gassed up and no leaks :D but when the AC is turned on the fan won't kick in! I've had a look at the fan it self and it spins fine. So I had a look at the cable up to the relay and that also looks ok but I then looked at th...

Re: COM 2000
Because he broke it he let me have it for free and said I may be able to use it for parts! It is the spin section from the middle that I can only assume holds the wiring for the airbag and horn? All that's in the centre is what looks like a white foam ring! It's also a DAV COM 2000. The stalk feels ...

COM 2000
The one in my 406 is slowly giving up! I do have another from a same age 406 but the breaker who removed it broke the airbag plug and sent me the unit with out the centre section, so can I use the centre section from mine or can I use a com 2000 unit from another Peugeot, say one from a 307 or 206?

Re: 406 HDI. Shake on start up and stop!
Just seen a page 3 to the post and that you had ago. I got my part from main dealer so maybe this is why it was a little easier to get in than yours sounded! And I'll now have to have another look to see if mine is in the right way now that I know.

Re: 406 HDI. Shake on start up and stop!
Hi Keppler. I first of all used a drill to take out the rubber section of the mount (less time than a hacksaw) then I was able to get in there with a hacksaw and take out the metal ring. This did take less time than getting it back in!!! I did have to unbolt the mount from the block just to be able ...

Re: What's needed to get more power from a 110 HDI?
Well that's given me something to think about! I must admit I really do like the sound of 180 bhp, especially after a friend of mine let me have a blast in his E60 525d which he has just had remapped from 167 to 210 and my god it flys, plus I forgot just how much fun rear wheel drive is!!!! He give ...

Re: What's needed to get more power from a 110 HDI?
Bailes swapped his HDi 90 for a Modeo, and Plod is getting one too. Why are you going in the other direction?! I used to have for my own run around a pop light 1.8 long nose MX5 and then last year we found out that we would be having a small person joining the family so with baby in mind I sold it ...

What's needed to get more power from a 110 HDI?
The family wagon is a 2004 2.0 TDCI Mondeo ghia estate 130bhp which I'm now selling and I'm going to replace it with a 406 estate when I find the one I want, and I'm going to miss the power of the Mondeo so this is why I'm asking. I'm leaning more towards the 2.0 110 unit more than the 2.2, So if I ...

Re: 406 HDI. Shake on start up and stop!
Ok. I did the rear lower engine mount on the car with drive shaft in place and the 406 is now nice and smooth on turn over so a HUGE thank you for the guys who helped me. Not only have you sorted out this issue but you've also stopped me from buying a new flywheel which by the sounds of it I will ne...

Re: Hello everyone :)
Hello & welcome, (again). 8) I tried a Mondeo TDCI 130 estate before opting for my previous 2.2 HDi estate and never regretted that decision. 406's good iron. :D Don't get me wrong the mondeo is a nice car and has amazing mpg as it's got the 6 speed box but I much rather drive the 406 and my wife t...

Hello everyone :)
Well I thought it was about time I should say hello.
