Re: Cheap alternative required - wiring issue
Problem sorted folks. Turns out my iso adapter was wrongly wired. I took a punt and ordered a new one from ebay just to see if there was a problem with the first one and hey presto - everything working as it should. thanks for the help.

Re: Cheap alternative required - wiring issue
Cheers Nightshade. The JVC is KS=FX202. Unfortunately, I didn't take the actual iso adapter cable out of the car that the stereo was in so I have an ebay after-market one and there is no brown wire on it. I tried looking for the mute as you suggested using the head unit menu itself but I can't find ...

Re: Cheap alternative required - wiring issue
It looks very similar to the second one. Update: It has the cassette slot and looks very like this one: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://img1.jpegbay.com/gallery/001119313/1_f.jpg&imgrefurl=http://jpegbay.com/gallery/001119313-.html&h=1200&w=1600&sz=122&tbnid=gaOCI1xa9UKrmM:&tbnh=110&tbn...

Re: Cheap alternative required - wiring issue
Cheers Nightshade. I cut no wires from the unit - just plugged straight in. It's a bit of a maze in there.

Re: Cheap alternative required
Cheers Nightshade. I have managed to resurrect a JVC multi-changer CD unit from my wife's old car which I had stored in the shed. My only trouble now is that my speakers will only work if I switch my sidelights on (see my other thread in here) and I have intermittent reception on the radio stations ...

Re: No sound from speakers
Okay - I accidentally got my speakers to work as I was replacing a bulb in the clock and when I switched the side lights on, hey presto, I had sound. Now obviously, I don't want to have the lights on all the time as I'm liable to forget them some morning and leave them switched on when I get out of ...

I have a jvc multi changer unit that I'm trying to install after frying my standard Phillips head unit. I have connected the iso connector to the two car fitted plugs and attached the aerial adapter but whilst I have power, I have no sound at all. I have two car plugs unconnected one of which I assu...

Cheers Gumby - I also notice Halfords are doing something similar at around the same money. I'll maybe drop in tomorrow and see what's there.

Cheap alternative required - wiring issue
Okay so I decided to try to fix the dimmed LCD/LED unit on my Phillips thinking it must be just a bulb and in the process I managed to bugger the whole system. (I think I short-circuited it and made it go pop). Off to the breakers yard I went and discovered that all of the four alternatives have a s...

Re: Radio Code
I tried the 1,2,3,4 method but got no joy and then I found this forum: http://forum.legija.net/forum.php at 9.00 this morning. By lunchtime, they had the correct code for me. You will need the serial no. stamped on the stereo, and few other bits to get an accurate reply. Look for my posts and you'll...

Re: Wiring advice.
Cheers Lozz - the Corsa was crushed a few weeks back so no chance of rescuing anything there. It never occurred to me at the time.

Wiring advice.
Hi folks, I have recently taken a Sony CD multi-changer and head unit from my wife's old Corsa which has been sent to the scrapper. I took out the factory fitted Phillips in my Pug 406 but (excluding the aerial) there are four plugs on the Phillips and obviously none of them match the 16 pin socket ...

Re: My 1999 1.8 LX - Nothing Special
Cheers folks. It's only been about six weeks of ownership so far but I'm well pleased so far. She seems sturdy and reliable and was very well looked after by the previous owner. The interior is practically spotless and apart from the (so far) non-working CD changer, I really can't fault it. Here's h...

My 1999 1.8 LX - Nothing Special
just a few photos of my recent acquisition. Only 77,500 on the clock and I have just had the timing belt, water pump and fan belt changed (for my own peace of mind). Car is immaculate and only one owner before me. All in all, I can't complain at £450.00 but I must source some alloys. http://imagesha...
