Re: Spanner Sets

I recently bought the flexible ratchet spanner set from halfords, the trade price isn't much more than retail of the set you bought (around £47 iirc), most of my tools are halfords professional/advanced professional, they don't do an 18mm long reach socket though!

Re: Bad Day!

Quick update on this, I thought I'd take a punt on a new keyboard for the laptop before I splashed out on a new one, £9 delivered, brand new, it came today and now the laptop works perfectly! I know it'll sound daft but I'm so happy to have my old laptop back again, especially considering it's age, ...

Re: Extremely Difficult starting D8 1.9 turbo diesel

I had a 306 1.9td similar to that, the one way valves in the priming bulb were the problem, it still worked but as lozz said it was letting the diesel drain back into the tank, I found out one day after I'd changed the filter and was priming it when after a good few pumps something crunched in the b...

Re: 307 Ignition barrel change

Is it a 306 (as in post) or 307 (as in title)? 306's don't have a BSI, pp2000 says they do but it's just the texton immobiliser box. Did he swap the transponder chip from his old key to the new one? I don't understand how the steering lock can stay on if the key is turning unless the barrel is damag...

Re: Bad Day!

I have no interest in tablets, an iphone and a laptop are all I need, with the desktop thrown in for fun! The zoostorm laptop on ebuyer seems like a good deal, I don't imagine it'll be the best build quality but it doesn't have to last forever, once I get my house finished and get moved in I'll be d...

Re: Bad Day!

The party was great, well worth the trip, I'm glad the car had the courtesy to hold on till we got home before it broke! Any reccomendations for a decent but cheap laptop? Netbooks are no good for me, I don't need it to play games, just the occasional film, I can't really afford one at the minute so...

Bad Day!

I've been to a party in Loughborough at the weekend, got back yesterday, 300+ mile round trip with no trouble, get in the car this morning to go to work to be greeted with an anti-pollution fault, turned it off and back on and it went, all good I thought, but no, car was flat as a fart, managed to g...

Re: pug 306 petrol to xud conversion,

You don't need to change the tank, just replace the pump with a bit of pipe, that's all it is on a diesel 306 (I've done this swap the other way, diesel to petrol!) I seem to remember someone fitting a 2.1 XUD into either a 205 or 306, can't remember which, and IIRC there was some problem with the t...

Re: 2.0 petrol tubby parts wanted.

That would have been the wrong engine for the 406 turbo bits anyway, they were 2.0 16v I believe, more or less a de-tuned gti6.

I have a zx9r that I might be parting with soon if you're after a bike? :cheesy:

Re: hdi rattling noise

Can you tell by looking at them weather you have an old dodgy one or a revised replacement? Any photos for comparison? I changed my timing belt (+ tensioner, idler and water pump) at the weekend, it had already been changed before I got the car but I have no idea how long ago and the timing belt cov...

DP Engineering, they make turbo manifolds amongst other things, perfect for a big project, way over the top for a quick cheap toy!

Re: Taking my van off me!

One of our work vans has a limier, 95mph, so not really a problem, especially with us being a double glazing factory, you can hardly go hooning about with a van full of glass!

That ebay listing was just an example, I'm sure you could get a set from a breakers for peanuts.
