Re: 406 lambs or ex gas temperature sensor.

If you heard it go pop, it's unlikely to be a vacuum pipe ( as theses are teeny tiny in comparison ) but one of the main intercooler pipes runs underneath the engine to the turbo, another from the turbo to the intercooler.... These popping off, or splitting will certainly give lack luster performanc...

Re: Flywheel

I have a solid flywheel on my 2.2hdi, fitted by the previous owner. To be honest when driving there is no discernible difference that I can tell, however there are increased vibration when coming to a stop ( only once you have pulled up and only about half a second ) Whether this is the flywheel or ...

Re: New member long term owner

To be fair over 3000rpm on the Hdi isnt great, it's all about the oomph between 1000 and 3000 rpm... It's possible your swirl valve is split, which is stealing the vacuum from the turbo when it needs it most. You can check this yourself. Pop the bonnet with the engine running ( always keep the door ...

Re: New member long term owner

Not on the 2.2hdi - only on the 2.0hdi and even then it's hit and miss with the EML... The 2.2hdi will drive like a turd with the MAF unplugged, although you are welcome to try it - worse case will be having to do a few journeys once you've plugged it back in to extinguish the EML. The snap-on reade...

Yes, if you remove the carpet thing, you can see the connector - although it's awkward to reach unless you are flexible

Re: 406 lambs or ex gas temperature sensor.

Agreed, no Lambdas on the Hdi. The 110 has less to go wrong than the over complicated 2.2hdi, so more than likely to be an overboost fault due to an old solenoid, or the MAP sensor, or an out of sync throttle sensor etc etc - to be honest there is no point playing parts roulette until you get a diag...

Re: Replaced doors / Central locking problem

It's a bit tricky but I'm sure you could put the old wiring loom into the new door?

Re: A/C fan stops working for short time

Yeah, the resistor often goes on the later models. There is a section of carpet under the glove box, remove this by popping out the tabs, then look for the big wires going into a green connector. Wiggle these wires, if the fan bursts into life then the connection is a bit dodgy, if your blower only ...

Re: Engine type

wrt coding... pp2000 does allow coding. I discovered this when I was trying to cure surging/idling in my 2003 hdi. The injectors do have coding info on the black plastic cap. Found this info on some bosch website. I used this to recode mine from being not aligned to what I remember as being somethi...

Re: Engine type

Have a look at your vin number by the windscreen. There is a breakdown somewhere about what the mixture of letters and numbers signify. Basically there are 2 Hdi variants, one is the RHY, one is the RHZ ( I forget which is which but its in the vin number ) The injectors don't need coding on the Hdi,...

Re: rear door wont open

You can remove the door card with the door closed - just.

If you have an extra pair of hands, get them to repeatedly lock/unlock the doors while you gently* thump the rear door in the area of the lock - it might jar it into life.

Re: I can haz a new Car and a free.......

I'm glad your feeling better Welly, and not dead. I can imagine that was a scare for you and the immediate family, I hope they are also helping you deal with this hiccup. Sadly this runs in my family ( my Dad passed away at 52 ) and I'm only 6 years away from that day, but although I'm not a keep fi...

I used my original airbag, but only as the Coupé one needed calibration or something.
The estate airbag fits the Coupe wheel.

Re: Steering wheel of Coupe

Providing it's the same generation Coupé, it's a straight fit ( different airbag for different generations )
I had a tan leather Coupe wheel on my estate car, no issues.

Re: New member long term owner

I've had 2 of the 2.2hdi executive estates, the first was a 2004 ex taxi which wasn't great but with a little time and help from here became quite a nice car in the end This was then used as a donor a few years later for a replacement and lower mileage GLX model, which I kept for ages. Now I'm on an...
