Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

I forgot to mention removing the engine/bulkhead 'blanket' which is held in by about 7 plastic studs. The air filter behind the engine is a truly awful idea on the 1.6 HDi, oh and, like last time, I lost an Allen Key somewhere behind the engine  that's probably lying on the M1 now :? Thanks f...

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

I think I've got a C-MAX intake boot in the shed still if you wanted to simplify the intake system? It would require extending the MAF wiring but it gets rid of all that awful plastic piping and then puts the filter behind the head light......

Re: 807 OBD Pinout

You've got a PM, thanks a million. Trying to get my pp2k to talk to this 807 has been a huge headache  I attached the schematic i think you are looking for: "diagnostic socket". When clicked, Sedre asked me: Select the vehicle configuration: * discharge bulb * absence of this/these variant(s)...

Having had the EGR valve on mine apart that makes sense, it's certainly electrically actuated and is some sort of funky rotating plunger thing.

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

Steve after turning off the engine there's a distinct humming/buzzing noise from the turbo area that seems to run on a timer, I'd love to know what it is. There was talk of some 'upgrades' following the spate of turbo failures with this engine. I believe said upgrades involved deleting the filter o...

They certainly oil up, and probably see a bit of backflow from the EGR. They're variable rather than open/shut AFAIK.

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

Assuming that yours is the same/pretty similar to the one I had in the 307? DV6 4TED iirc. The inlet system is pretty complex, it has an air doser with 2 electrically actuated butterflies. One butterfly is fed directly from the turbo and the other via the intercooler. Operationally, the direct feed ...

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

Modern cars are getting too smart by half........ It may well have a different idle setting for when the A/C is on or it could be that as the motor is under extra load from the compressor that what ever is causing the hesitation (could be engine rather than gear box related) is unstuck already so no...

Re: Photobucket Fix

Given it's a publicly available extension I'm sure the thieving Wayne Kerrs are well aware of it but there's probably nothing they can do about it. They change the way the images show on their end and the plugin will be modified to catch up. The only way to stop it would be to break the links perman...

Re: Car in garage

As I understand from 'my' MOT man; if the car left the factory with a DPF but was then removed (straight-piped) then that's a big fat fail. If the car has 'what looks like' the factory DPF in place then all's good and it's just down to the simple smoke test which it'll pass anyway. Or something. Th...

Re: Car in garage

Dpf fitment seems to have been a tad haphazard (but was engine specific) in the early 2000's but that was the change over period to euro 4 emissions compliance. Take the 307 for example 1.4 hdi non 1.6 90 hdi non 1.6 110 hdi dpf 2.0 90 hdi non 2.0 110 hdi non 2.0 136 hdi dpf And everything changed a...

Re: Car in garage

I had the dpf discussion with my MOT man a couple of months ago. He said they'd had a memo about dpfs but no concrete advice on how to check it or how to check whether it should even be fitted to that particular vehicle or not.
