Thanks lozz.
Local motor factor told me he would order one in from Alco but I would have to wait until his bulk order was sent. I called in today, Alco order had come in but no filter - he had forgot to order it!!
I'll just get one without the frame elsewhere.

Help me Find Correct Pollen Filter
I want to renew my pollen filter on my 01 HDI90 estate. I replaced it before and had no problem getting the correct filter but it seems to be a problem this time. The filter fitted to my car consists of a paper element glued into a rectangular black plastic frame. This frame clips into the filter ho...

DW10TD Oil Leak
I have an oil leak on the engine of my 406 HDI 90, DW10TD engine (what's new :) ). It is coming from the joint where the oil return pipe from the turbo enters the block. There is a rubber hose attached to an alloy spigot that is pressed into the block, just above the sump. I thought it was the joint...

Re: Peugeot Exchange Clutches
Thanks for the offer Ally but the clutch seems to have cured itself! There is only a slight weep of oil & I think it's from the sump so I'm not going to take off the gearbox just for that. If I ever need a seal I'll keep you in mind. I found out on another forum that the 'exchange' clutches are actu...

Re: DPF (FAP) Cleaners
Brother-in-law had a 307sw & the DPF blocked warning light came on. I took off the DPF & jet washed it but he had to go to the stealer to get the fault code reset & they filled up the DPF additive (I didn't know about it at the time  ). The stealer charged him £200  so every year before...

Peugeot Exchange Clutches
In anticipation of maybe having to replace my clutch I have been doing some pricing. Best price I had got was £95 +vat from a local motor factors for a LUK clutch kit. Decided to try my local stealers & got a nice surprise. The wrong clutch kit had been ordered for a vehicle & the parts guy had kept...

Can a Slipping Clutch Cure Itself?
Last week I was doing some gardening work for a relative. I had cut a mountain of stuff out of her overgrown garden & I had to reverse a trailer up her steep twisty gravel avenue to lift it. This involved a lot of maneuvering & riding the clutch - lady was impressed as no-one in over 40 years of her...

Re: D9 Decat downpipe
So I guess it's not available but thanks for the help guys. I would make the exhaust up myself as I can buy the straight pipe & the flexi but the problem could be getting the olive end that goes on the manifold & I have no way of bending the pipe. What I might do is remove the pipe, bring it to a lo...

Re: Diff Oil Seal Size
Thanks for all the info guys. Guess I'll go to the stealers & get them.
From previous experience with 205 gearboxes I know that the genuine pug seals are a better fit, just thought I'd save some cash.

D9 Decat downpipe
The front flexi on my 2001 HDI 90 cracked & I had to do a patch up job on it. The rest of the front pipe is on its last legs so I need a complete new one. I cut out the cat & replaced it with a straight pipe & it passes MOT no problem. Only problem now is that any new pipe comes with a cat, which I ...

Diff Oil Seal Size
Need to replace diff oil seals on my 2001 HDI 90. Can anyone tell me what the dimensions of the seals are so I can order them from the motor factors? I assume they are a double lipped type? Would I be better getting them from the stealers?

Re: Front Strut Bearings - help needed!
I called in with my local Peugeot independant garage, whom I've dealt with in the past & are willing to give advice. I told them my tale & the advice was to check the uj at the bottom of the steering column. They often seize up on 406's - they do at least one a month! Took the lower steering shaft o...

Re: Thieving git*
You don't need an cat fitted to your car to pass MOT. I removed mine after I got the car as I thought it was blocked. Car has went through 4 MOT tests since & no mention of the cat even though its obvious where I welded in the bypass section. Bonus was getting £50 from the local scrapyard for the ol...

Front Strut Bearings - help needed!
I fitted 2 new front strut top bearings recently for MOT. The old ones were completely gone & came out in bits. The steering was transformed from being very heavy to normal & the banging noises stopped. MOT man wanted to turn me down, said the strut bearings were seized! I told him I'd fitted 2 new ...
