You can use automotive panel wipe, that cuts through anything.
Or I used nail varnish remover. Was risky... but worked.

Its because of crap like this and other bad experiences with my insurance, that I leave the engine the hell alone on my 406. Well that, and the want of a reliable run around. Could be the stepper motor which regulates the air/fuel mixture.
This can cause erratic idling, stalling when depressing the clutch for a period of time like shifting gears when drawing up to lights.
The stepper might need a good clean out, or replacement.

Thats why my nexts car WILL be a D9.

I've decided that I'll see if I can get my faithfull 6 past the big 200K mile mark. She's on 180 now.
