PP2000 midlands / northants / MK ?
Hi All Just wondering if there is anyone with a PP2000 near to me in Northampton. I hope to be able to interogate the settings status for cruise control activation. My car in an 03 with COM-2000. Cruise stalk and additional brake pedal switch are now fitted. When I had my car mapped by HDI Tuning, h...

Re: 406 HDi 110 MPG
Still require Brim to Brim to calculate true Fuel consumption. Over 18,000 of accurate monitoring my 2003 406 HDi has averaged 51mpg. The on board computer is always between 6.5 and 6.8 mpg short of this. Miles odometer is as far as I can reasonably check using GPS and motorways mileposts within 1% ...

Re: PLEASE HELP A NEWBIE
Very old thread, but.... My latest acquired 406 is an "S" estate with 205/55x16. The door pillar sticker states 2.5 bar F and R (36 psi) The 16" tyres do not have as good a ride as the 15". Better with three people in the rear seat! For "fully laden" rears can go up to 3.2 bar (46 psi). It feels ext...

Re: Merry Xmas 2015
Merry Xmas and now bixing day.
Had a good family get together fairly devoid of car works and forum chats.
Lovely change of scene.
Best wishes for 2016 to all this small but dedicated band of 406 nuts!

@ PeterN
Agreed. The 406 is a well honed package. Whilst lacking any prestige it can out trump many "quality" premium brands on many fronts.
Its suspension outperforms Xantia and by your comment previously, the C5 also, despite hydropneumatic being one of Cit's USPs.

Re: Rounded off rear calliper bolt
To change pads on Rear don't need to remove the top and bottom slider bolts.
If the fitting kit pins are seized in they can be drilled out and new ones fitted.
Your rounded off top slider bolt will be a problem if you need to change disc.

My "new" one is a 03 but only done 56530 when I got it on 11 Nov.
Now just turned 60K.
My contract has me driving long distances between suppliers sites. Just did 28K btween Feb and Nov in a V70 T5.
See Volvo corner for V70 T5 v 406 HDI 110

Look in the Volvo corner for why I just went BACK into a 406!
I've done a lot of miles in 406s and other stuff between.

Re: How many 'uses' from a Clay Bar?
I have found the non branded clay bars available on ebay for under £1 a bar work just as well as the very highly priced, highly marketed brands. These are even from uk suppliers so no need to endure shipping delays from China. The UK guys have done it for you. Using lower priced clay means the tempt...

COMM2000 unit change.
Just changed out my Comm2000 to overcome the dreaded floppy stalk. Would have expected this to have been changed now on a 13yo car but it's only done 58K so I guess it survived. Hopefully the new Delphi one is more durable than the original DAV item and will last the car out! Not a difficult job but...

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
Just bought a nice "S" estate 110 HDi.
Only 56,600 miles in its 13 years!
Starting to make it more like most 406s with 800 added in first week!
