Thanks RWB When out for a fiddle about...I did not know there were any under the passenger side   I noticed that two of the plug connectors have been taped up with black electrical tape with just the red one (green wire) not taped!! The others have orange wires going in (taped ones) S...

Re: Airbag Light & Error

Thanks for that!!! I am going to look at it again tomorrow!! I did notice the wires under the seat. Most are going along the bar and it looks like they are sealed in a plastic type sheet. There are 3 plugs hanging from the bottom of seat itself but only 1 of them has a cable going in to it!! other t...

Airbag Light & Error

Hi Everyone! I am in hope someone can help me out here, having a horrendous day with my car here. Apart form being in the garage after breaking the front spring and my rear wheel jamming and dragging again (handbrake related) I have now been reading that the MOT will fail in 4 weeks due to the air-b...

Re: Noise when pulling away in 1st! and few other probs.

Any resolution on this Phil? I have noticed the past week the same thing. Happens when engine is cold, usually only when pulling away in first on slight brae at top of my road. Happened when sitting on slight brae at traffic lights too. Sounds like a belt slipping/drone type thing. In addition, I am...

Re: Back Driver-Side wheel/breaks!

Thanks jasper5, we have just been out and stripped down to look at it, cleaned the pivot mechanism (was pretty well rusty in there) along with pretty much everything else on reconstruction, spun the disk and its free. Hand brake on and off and still free now so fingers crossed that is it  w...

Re: Back Driver-Side wheel/breaks!

Ryan, I had a similar issue with my D8 with the OSR binding, turned out to be the hand brake cable. It has basically bonded itself to the outer sleeve so it wasn't fully releasing. Mine is a drum brake setup so different to yours but you could clearly see the outersleeve of the hand brake cable mov...

Re: Hello From Scotland

Hello also from Scotland (I'm in Aberdeen)! The 406 is a lovely car, really comfortable, practical, and can be fun to drive. I had a 406 LX saloon before with a 1.8 litre engine (nice car but a bit lacking in power) but now I have a 406 SE Coupe with a 2.2 litre engine and it's a lot of fun to driv...

Re: Back Driver-Side wheel/breaks!

Sounds very plausible to me Gary! Hence the rubbing sound I am hearing from that area with injection of squeaks and the like now and then. This actually takes me back to after I bought it, maybe second day...I got out the car and smelt a very faint burning rubber from that area. Now I just had a Mon...

Back Driver-Side wheel/breaks!

First off, I am new to the site here and glad to find it! Looking forward to diving in deeper on the forum!! I have recently bought my first Peugeot car, picking up a nice 02 plate 406 Rapier HDI 110 from a local car garage and have to say I love it! So I am a bit down just now as small (hopefully) ...
