Re: Haunted Horn on 307...
Incase it helps others, I followed the reset procedure on BBA-REMAN's website, I believe the 406 has the same BSI Unit also:- Before sending the unit try the BSI Reset procedure as this may cure your faults: Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off. Ensu...

Haunted Horn on 307...
Hi guys, I realise this is a 406 forum and mine is fine and well (for now). This question is on behalf of my wife and her horny 307! Basically it has a case of the electrical gremlins. When it feels like it the horn sounds and stays on until you disconnect the battery. It can behave for half a day o...

Re: MOT is coming....
+1 - you will need to bed the shoes in as suggested but I tend to use my handbrake once a month to slow my car when in traffic - this way it is getting the friction to grip but not getting too hot - seems to work. Also, after a month or so of fitting new shoes, I adjust them with the adjusted in th...

Re: MOT is coming....
Handbrake is crap TBH but all the rear brakes were replaced last year and it past on less efficiency than it has now so hopefully ok. Antiroll bar links were done also as has knocking coming from front so swapped them anyway, light check done and numberplate lamp holders cleaned out!. Guess it's a '...

MOT is coming....
Been doing a bit of work on the old girl over the last couple of days including 2x track rod ends, n/s inner & outer driveshaft gaitors, handbrake adjustment, rear door lock mechanism replacement. Having a good look around the car all seems to be ok, does anyone have any other suggestions of failure...

Re: O/S Rear door won't open..
Just a follow up. Door card off was a bit tricky with door shut, none of the rods operated the door latch so was stuck. Unscrewed torx screw from black part of housing, still didn't allow me to see much. Applied sharp chisel & hammer, smashed it to pieces (Carefully) and finally gained access to the...

Re: O/S Rear door won't open..
Looks like it's the brute force approach, not a central locking issue, i pulled hard on the outer handle with a frosted shut door and felt something break

Re: Wierd very intermittent acceleration problem...
Just for archives, I remedied the problem by cleaning out the Air Doser assembly, as it was intermittently sticking shut!

O/S Rear door won't open..
Hi folks, just a quick question. On my 406 2001 HDI Estate, the rear drivers side door locking mechanism has broken so that the internal or external handles will not open the door. I have a part to replace the locking mechanism with but cannot open the door to gain easy access :( Has anyone had this...
