Front Fog Replacement
Hi, I just sold my D9 to a friend, but days before the sale, the passenger side fog lamp cover got smashed. The lamp still works, but I promised my friend that I'd get it replaced as it obviously looks a mess. In looking online (http://www.eurocarparts.com/search/475735201/p/home), it's unclear to m...

Re: Burning Clutch Smell
Heavens, no  , I wasn't riding the clutch the whole time while waiting! It was just moving the car off from a braked position on the ramp that required some big revs and clutch (you know how steep multi-storey ramps can be). Anyway, it's likely that it was just a one-off over those two days t...

Re: Burning Clutch Smell
The two times that it occurred, I was parking on a steep hill, and then in a multi-storey, caught on a ramp waiting for passing traffic. I've been in situations like that before and there's been no smell, so there was a difference this time.

Burning Clutch Smell
Hi, my 131,000 D9 has recently started producing a burning clutch smell when I'm riding the clutch while in a multi-storey or parking on a hill. It's only started doing this over the last week. Does this suggest it's worn out and needs replacing? I've experienced no other problems with gear changes ...

Re: retro fit remote central locking
Ended up having to get one of these after-market kits fitted. Since I've had the car the main remote central locking has never worked, and recently both main locks had seized up and no end of WD40 would persuade them otherwise. Local car alarm fitter installed one all in for £120, now works like a c...

Re: 406 HDI 110 Rust / bubbling on front of bonnet?
You've been warned... If you see bubbling pain on the front lip of your bonnet, I recommend you let alone. Here's what happened when I did a little bit of digging... http://nearstars.com/images/406bonnetrustwide.jpg http://nearstars.com/images/406bonnetrustclose.jpg There seem to be about two layers...

Re: Central Locking Woes
Good to know. I had no idea! Short of grinding up a pencil onto a piece of card and blowing it into the lock i was wondering how you could do this... Failing a suitable delivery method, I might try sourcing graphite-in-a-can. EDIT: Just discovered this: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Lubrica...

Re: Central Locking Woes
Thanks dogslife, I am *hoping* that your solution with the PP2000 (something I've read a lot about on these forums) would do the job. My concern is forking out for something only to find that wasn't the solution. I'm moving down to Worcestershire in about three weeks. Perhaps if I can hold off until...

Central Locking Woes
Had a November 2002 HDI 110 Rapier Estate now for about a month. I believe it's a D9 (from reading the forums in general, not certain though). When I bought it from the dealer he said it had been sitting on the tarmac for about 3 weeks unused. The battery was flat. We jump started it for the road te...

New 2002 HDi 110 Rapier Estate Owner
Hello Everyone, from Yorkshire! Just a quick note of introduction. Bought a silver 2002 HDi 110 Rapier Estate about a month ago. 92,000 on the clock. Only £1,600. Already done about a thousand miles in it - beautiful long distance killer, 47mpg inter-urban clocked on the trip computer. So I think I ...
