Re: Weird electrical problems, but suspect Alternator

Just reading your posts. Sounds like the voltage regulator is gone on your altenator. Don't be surprised if you have battery troubles in the near future :( I don't think you read the post where I changed the alternator.. I did read that bit but the damage " may " have happened already but o...

Re: Plugs and Oil

Not advice, just an anecdote. I left a petrol 405 in an airport long stay car part for 3 months (3 week contract turned into 3 months). Got off the plane, paid a small fortune in charges, sat into car, turned key and drove it 100 miles. Gave it a winter service the following week as it was that time...

Re: Juddering under acceleration at 40mph

New driveshaft fitted and juddering gone - now for the vibration at motorway cruising speed :supafrisk:

Edit: forgot to mention it started knocking on hard cornering yesterday, the inner joint must have been about to come apart completely

You are bang on the money sir, thank you. Now all I need is a right hand driveshaft which I should be able to get tomorrow.

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?

Just bought it at 145,000 miles. My Almera just died at 273,000 miles so the pug has a few miles to go yet, but should make it in about 2 years :supafrisk:

Would you not hear the classic knocking when turning hard?

Re: Juddering under acceleration at 40mph

Engine mount (especially the rear lower one) and also possibly gearbox mount although this one will also make shifting tricky. One remote possibility is the differential bearings - shakes under acceleration, goes away when lifting off. Worn mountings will transmit vibrations (of which a HDi has man...

Juddering under acceleration at 40mph

Hi guys, new poster here. I just bought a 00 2.0HDi but it is exhibiting something strange while accelerating past 40 to 50mph. I initally thought that it just needed wheels balanced and tracking sorted but this has not fixed it. There is noticable body shake or judder above 40 mph in 3rd gear but t...
