Re: Auto box swap??

Yes I agree, I don't mind a petrol or a saloon then if I do repair and go back to work I will just buy another estate. What ever I buy I will still watch this forum. Thanks for the good wishes.
Regards Keith.

Re: Auto box swap??

Thanks for all the information, I did suspect it may be very difficult if not impossible. Also my car is also awkward as a D8 shell with a 1.9 hdi engine. Anyway I do currently have it for sale, because the reason for needing an auto is I will then need to have it converted to left foot throttle. Ha...

Anyway now out of hospital I find I need an automatic, so this is my post about my ultra reliable 1999 hdi that I've had for about 4 years, and wondered if anyone could advise if my 5 speed manual cou...

Re: Dash, clock and center console back lights out, fuses OK

Hmm, OK! Well, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the bulbs have actually blown. There are 6 that backlight the instrument panel, and they're not expensive from local motor factors. Worth a shot? I know this is an old post but probably the nearest to what I need, how do i dismantle the ...

Re: indicators staying on

Hi both thanks for the info i will suspect the stalk first then. On the D8/D9 designation given what you say my chassis number makes the car a D8, but I thought the D8 should have a 1.9 XUD engine ala the 405 or a 2.1HDi mine has a 1.9 HDi which I thought I had seen on this forum you call a D8.5? Iv...

Re: maf sensor

Having been told to get a good maf I have been offered from main dealer £136 from local spares shop a Hella for £81 and a Lucas for £65 are these prices about right? The one I got last time in my ignorance was a unknown make Masterflow! Can't find bill to tell what I paid.

Re: maf sensor

Thanks for tips, as I said I did replace it about a year ago with one from local spares shop and suspect it's as bad as ebay ones this time I'll get a good one from main dealer.

Re: maf sensor

Hi and thank for the reply it seems to be running fine but does appear to be using fractionally more fuel, I will be replacing the maf sensor this week so am not talking about months, was just concerned about doing irreperable damage.
Thanks again
