hi my car has just started changing down unbidden on the motorway goes like this... 70 mph gear box shifts down revs increase tp 4500 instanlty changes up and settles then seems to happen randomly but if i go over 80 it doesnt happen. any ideas anybody? many thanks in advance

it only makes the ticking noise when engine is running? sorry to be a nuisance! hope fully its nothing to worry about but you never know...

the ticking noise is coming from the area on the left nearest the wash resevoir area i hope this clears it up any new idea's on cause guys cheers

thank you very much. apologies but where is the flap located and how do i disconnect i am a complete novice at this!

my 406 has recently developed a tick (sounds electronic) but maybe not!! seems to be near the left by the windscreen wash . any ideas on what it may be anyone? many thanks
