hiya... i know its NOT a 406... but i thought you guys may still be able to help... got to change a cambelt on a 1997 peugeot 405 GLX estate 2ltr petrol automatic with aircon xu10j2 engine. just wondering if anyone could provide any tips for this job please, i.e can you lock the crank and cam..? man...

good luck pal, i believe you have got to lift the engine out to do that? you seem to have to lift that engine out for most things lol, it a pig, and i own 1!! although they are nice to drive, and the engine if pritty bullet proof. have you done a coolant pressure test?? to see if your coolant is lea...

yeah that was it, high and low revs..... ive changed the injectors now, all except 1. it isn't hunting now, still grey smoke though. and something isnt quite right somewhere, but alot beter. i want to replace the injector that i havent replaced, but a nipple for the leak of pipes has broke...... :ev...

further to my post .... http://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7264 which had no response.... i though id gamble on the injectors... and hope its not the pump. what injectors will fit....? i.e modle wise? would the 1.9td injectors be the same? or dose it have to be from the 2.1 td pug / citreon?...

What problems would i experiance if i had problems withthe injectors. I previosly put the car through a puddle, drowned her, and run out of fuel. I dont think the water was a problem, although it didnt like it, but i put some fuel in, but the erson who got the fuel for use, didnt clean the container...

if its any help. when this happens to any of my cars, it tends to be the leak off / spill pipes.

just replace all the pipes connecting to the injectors

oakey dokey, im sat out here wile the warms up, just emptyd the old oil, put sum cheap stuff in with some engine flush and she smoking like a trooper. Heya peeps Went to the scrappy today and found the heated seat switches. i heard that all the 406's have the heated seat wiring already in place. and i have noticed the connectors under the centre console. But i doubt its as easy as just cutting the hole and plugging them in.... is it??? should need...

From: Longintooth To: nipper76 Hi If water did get by the filter it would end up in the lower pipe to the intercooler and create a water block where by air has to pass through the water in big bubbles - just remove the lower pipe and let it out. It is unlikely to have got any higher up he intercool...
