siphone/syphon diesel from d8
Well...its that time. My 406 has given so much considereing how little I asked of it when I bought it for £370 last year (d8 with hdi 110 engine) that it pains me to say goodbye but the job situation and the need for more space means moving on... I'm picking up a new car tomorrow, but I feel kinda s...

sloshing sound when I brake
On my D8 406, I've noticed a rather loud sloshing sound when I brake. I don't notice it when I accelerate, or turn - at least I haven't so far. The car seems to be running quite well, so I don't think it's causing any trouble but it is a little disconcerting. We had a lot of rain lately, so I'm wond...

Re: My 406 continues to fall to bits...
My god, so many tray stories! I think I'll leave it off for now. I don't have a means to get the car up and get under it. I might see if someone I know can help me though. With regards to the aerial - pretty much all the black plastic bit got ripped off. there's a small lump of metal sticking up fro...

My 406 continues to fall to bits...
It's not been a good period for my D8. The sump guard is now in the boot, and a car was ripped the aerial off (it's not in the boot too). Is it worth replacing the sump guard, and how easy is it to get the aerial back on? It looks like it's not meant to come off...

Re: removing headlights on a d8
thanks for the help folks - replaced with nothing broken. £9 f*cking 50 for a bulb though...
As an aside, my drivers side dipped bulb doesnt have the plastic cover on it that's covering the rest of the bulbs... must have been replaced a few times before!

Re: removing headlights on a d8
i assume the headlights are mounted the same in d8/d9 so youll need to take off the grille, then youll see another bolt, then there is one more holding the light onto the wing, hard to get at but once its turning it comes out easy, just dont drop it. So thats it 3 bolts in total, and it comes out T...

I'm trying to change the bulb - I am under the impression I have to remove the unit to access it?

removing headlights on a d8
Hi all, searched for this but could only find info on d9's (mind you, it IS 745 am so a little bitslow this morning!) I have a dipped headlight out on my driver's side cluster - the side lights and full beam are working fine, so I reckon it's just t'bulb. I had a go at getting it out last night in t...

D8 dash light gone
hello, I noticed last night the dash on my D8 was no longer illuminated, nor was the centre console. The only illumination came on the speedo, which I think was just glow from the odomoeter bulb. I looked at the list of fuses and made a note to check 17 and 28, but both were intact. I noticed 19 was...

Re: How do i adjust handbrake?
when I park my car and put the handbrake on, especially on a hill, and then come off the footbrake, the car seems to "settle" onto the handbrake - it may roll forward or back a bit then stop. It's only a cm or so but it sure gives the passengers a fright!
