alignment specs from Peugeot?

Hi all, Had my 406 saloon car aligned. Steering wheel is still pointing to the right slightly and rear jiggles over potholes or uneven road surface. Clearly the alignment isn't alright (suspension and steering rack are known good, no play) Shop's machine does not advise to lower the car for alignmen...

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout

A big thank you for your help, frog and steve! 8) This looks more plausible to me.

If I remember correctly the blue 12v connector on the BSI is located on the side of the firewall. As soon as I find the time I'll test it and report back.

Thanks once again!

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout

Yeah I'm pretty sure about the 26 Blue, it directs all the lighting-related functions. I just think the pinout changed between semi mux and full mux, and Haynes contains semi mux (MY until 2002). The topic/forum is this one: https://www.tlemcen-electronic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91228 Impossible ...

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout

The wiring loom isn't there, was planning to guide cable from the lead on the BSI (but I don't know which one?) to the four doors. There's this French/English forum where someone posted a pinout of the Blue 26-prong connector, but I can't get access  If no one with Sedre/Service box can get me...

Door sill light - BSI pinout

Hi all, Question: does anyone have a pinout for the blue 26-prong BSI connector on a late 2003 406? I'm trying to retrofit door sill/puddle lights. My BSI has the option to switch on this function. Today I looked at the BSI's 26-prong blue connector. Based on a few wiring diagrams, I expected that p...

Re: Live data unavailable: connection issue?

SOLVED: using PP2000 and reading the engine ECU individually, without doing global scan first, gave me live data.

It doesn't have fuel trims though?!

Re: Wipers interrupting

Do you have the Haynes manual? On diagram 18 it looks like the relays are in the BSI.

Re: rear shockers

Different part numbers with Peugeot, but aftermarket car part websites show as interchangeable. Plus visually they are 100% identical and the rear axle is identical throughout the 406 range anyway. I would hatch a bet if the price is good and returning them is not too expensive should they not fit.

Secondary air pump on 1.8 (EW7J4)?

Hi all, my 406 (2003) 1.8 EW7J4 does not have a secondary air pump (or it has been removed by the previous owner, who knows :supafrisk: ). I was wondering as of when the secondary air injection system was installed on the EW7 engine in the 406. I'm suspecting the PO had it removed because the things...

Re: Live data unavailable: connection issue?

Thanks for the reply. I do select 406 restyle and insert the right DAM. Now that you mention soldering joints, I'll do some visual inspection of the connector and wiring between bsi, ecu and diagnostic port and report back what I found. Car was brought over from a country where summers are very hot,...

Live data unavailable: connection issue?

My 1.8 EW7J4 is not giving any live data (a.k.a. parameters) on PP2000 or another generic tool I use. Both work fine on another car with identical specs. I'd need to see live sensor data because the exhaust is smelling excessively of unburnt petrol and smoking a lot even though the exhaust get thoro...

Peugeot 406 1.8 EW7

Hi everyone, I own a 2003 saloon with a 1.8 EW7J4 engine with 125k miles on the clock. Lovely car, mid-level spec that I recently fitted with a black leather interior from the scrappy and the 15" rims of the V6. Colour is "blue de rhodes" (KPMD). My plan is to use the car as a daily drive but keep i...

The rattle might be caused by a heat shield hitting the exhaust pipe...or the crankshaft pulley :D
