Re: 205gti manifold on my 2.2 Sri- worth it?

Different Engine so it won;t even fit, the only engine in the 406 range it would fit is the 8v Turbo but only with mod's

Nice post, I must say my 406 even thou it's the Estate is pretty good in all area's, It has beaten 205's etc on a timed sprint circuit, but I have had 6 yr's race experance under my belt which makes the most differance, Just got back from the Ring and even thou I could only do 1/2 lap at full speed ...

Christ, I paid about £250.00 for the centre and Back box from my dealer, But Thats at trade price. But when I had a Mondeo as a company car the complete system was replaced by Kwik fit and it never went the same and sounded funny too, Took it back and they didn;t really take any notice as it didn;t ...

I can;t believe people are saying go to Kwik Fit, The systems they fit are often poor quality and if the 205 ones are anything to go buy loose a fair amount of power, The system on mine is a OE Pug one which I only had to replace a yr ago for the first time so getting 8 years out of it is pretty goo...

Yes they do, All the XU engine's use the BE3 or the BE4 which is basically the same box

The V6 hands down, You can never beat cubic capicity at the end of the day, The turbo engine was just a get me buy at the time and even in a 205 it's not that quick at all, Plus it suffers from the all to common XU oil surge problem where the 3.0 doesn;t :D

If the clutch is stiff it's more like the cross shaft rusted up in the bearings (Common problem on BE3 boxes), Expensive job as the box needs to come off

The bolt's are a stretch type which really isn;t good for a high boost engine, But I think it's all you can get, I know that ARP do the head bolt's for the ally 205 engine and thats it. Most manufactures use these bolt's now, I think mainly as the blocks and head are Iron and ally, Quote' peugeot us...

The GTi6 and S16 use different fuel rails and managment, So some careful sensor positioning will do the trick no problems at all. I'll eat my hate if it doesn't fit

Yes it will fit, Not sure what the sensors are like on the 1.8 but I've changed the sensors to the GTi6 inlet from a 306 S16 I have, Had to make a couple of plates as it uses a external idle Valve against the 6's stepper motor idle valve and new throttle cable and that's it, The throttle body is a g...

Don;t forget changing the cam means checking and replacing all the shims, As there not hydraic like the 16v's,
But has anyone got hard proof this works, As I;ve got a turbo engine needing some more HP
