Re: intercooler covered in oil
any oil inside the cooler has to have come from the turbo bearings cos the cooler is before the inlet obviously so there should be no oil in the air, vapour or otherwise unless the turbo bearings are passing, but then they will be after big miles.

Re: 2001 hdi 110bhp engine problem
dunno if they are mounted side by side but both electrovalves look the same in the parts blow-up's I have, havent looked at my car yet but will when I finish work mate. Follow the tube from the vacuum pump on the rhs end of the head, it goes to both electrovalves, the egr itself, and the Pneumatic c...

Re: antipolution fault
whoops there I go again! So which diesels have the dpf then steve, and why doesnt the 2.0 hdi have one? my manual mentions a dpf and mines a 2.0, but it could be generalising of course... Here is a link to a DPF for a 2.0 HDi - but it could be the 16v version? Im confused. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUG...

Re: antipolution fault
EGR fault perhaps mate, or the DPF is clogged (diesel particulate filter) - these and the cat form the antipollution system.

Edit - it does have a boost control valve 1233, and an EGR control electrovalve as well as the EGR itself.

Re: intercooler covered in oil
there shouldn't be any oil in the cooler mate, if there is then the turbo bearings are shagged and it's blowing your engine oil through the compressor which then collects in the bottom of the IC.

Re: HDI 110 throttle problem
Ah....I went to find an injector the other day at a very large breakers near here, the guy laughed when I asked about a 406 HDi. I said "whats funny?" to which he replied "we dont touch anything off a pug diesel mate - we get big money exporting them whole" !!! I was gobsmacked - no 406's, no HDi's ...

Re: black smoke and still cutting out
they are cheap actually, here is one on evilbay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot-Citroen-HDi-Fuel-Pressure-Sensor-/180509908290?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a073a9d42 Its very possible that the sensor is falsely reporting low rail pressure, which would cause the pump (vi...

Re: HDI 110 throttle problem
she is sluggish (slightly ) up to 1800rpm then away she goes pulling like a train then runs out of steam at about 4000 rpm Lol normal behaviour there then mate ;) It would be worth changing the TPS from a scrapper as it is easy to swap, but really the ecu flags an error code if a sensor fails self-...

Re: black smoke and still cutting cut
hi mate what engine is it? I assume its diesel - if the injection ecu detects a single faulty injector it will stop the engine so it only needs one bad one to take the engine down. Wrong rail pressure will also cause an error that can result in an engine stop. The fuel pressure must be above 120 bar...

Re: 406 hdi coughs and cuts out
does sound like poor fuel pressure, the lift pump could be failing to supply the injection pump enough fuel under load, hence the rail pressure drops and limp mode is triggered. But it may be a faulty MAF, or the fuel filter may be clogged, EGR blocked, or even the particulate filter (DPF) may be bu...
