Re: Breaking 98 'S' Peugeot 406 1.9TD Estate

Oakworth, West Yorkshire. I say the colour is Gray not blue. Could try and get some pics later. The seat is fine but the plastic trim where the seat belt comes out of the seat has snapped. It might still be in the car but I can't promise. Best be quick as it's going to the breakers as soon as I'm ab...

Re: Breaking 98 'S' Peugeot 406 1.9TD Estate

Roof rack is not peugeot, fits any car with roof rails.

Nokia hands free works vis bluetooth so work with any nokia, presumably with any make but i've only used it with nokia's. I think it's a ck-7w.

Oakworth is in West Yorkshire type BD22 into google maps.

Breaking 98 'S' Peugeot 406 1.9TD Estate

I have a 1998 Peugeot 406 1.9TD Estate in dark metallic green which I am breaking for spares before I weigh in whats left. The car had either a cam belt or tensioner failure which has broken the cam. As far as I know the rest of the engine is fine, the car was a fantastic runner before hand and did ...

Re: DIY Clutch change 1.9TD Estate

good article that, I'm pretty sure the clutch is about done but some times it slips some times it doesn't. Think it could be the adjusting mech which has reached it's limit as well and keeps adjusting / allowing it to un adjust / adjust, I've had this before on other cars. Access to this seems virtu...

DIY Clutch change 1.9TD Estate

Hi guys, clutch has just started slipping on my 406, it's not really bad yet and I'm hoping I'll get a bit nearer to the warmer weather before spending and afternoon in the garage but i'll have to do it before long as I use this as my tow barge for my sprint car and it's not going to tow a trailer a...

Re: Lack of power 1.9TD Estate

pretty sure it isn't the clutch, dragged my race car on a trailer over 100 miles up some pretty serious inclines at the bank holiday, it was steady but no sign of any clutch slip and I'm sure it would have shown up. I need to spend some time working out what all the pipes do and arrying out a full i...

Re: Lack of power 1.9TD Estate

i've taken up the slack and moved the connection outwards on the throttle arm to gain a little mechanical advantage, it's helped a little but not enough. the damper is already missing. the lack of power is more obvious setting off but noticable throughout compared with my citroen. they have differen...

Re: Lack of power 1.9TD Estate

Done all the checks and can't find any definite probs so it's probably just the way it is. I've read about a Stage one tune which gives a bit of extra bhp and torque by just making adjustments, this may be the answer to get that extra bit of umph? Anyone done this or know anyone who would do this fo...

Re: Towing electrics 406 estate

Yeah I removed one of the screws holding the loom down and drilled a hole through the plastic plug, ran the cable to the O/S corner then ran a couple of single wires across the car from the N/S to O/s for the N/S indicator etc and did all my connections behind the O/S lamp.

All done now.

Cheers

Re: Towing electrics 406 estate

Cheers guys, not what I wanted to hear but if thats the way it is then I don't suppose there is owt I can do about it. On all the cars I've done previously the loom has come to the back down one side to one rear corner and then only the wires for the other rear light or maybe the othere rear light a...

Towing electrics 406 estate

In a bit of a rush to get my towbar fitted and hoping you guys can save me a bit of time? Fitted the bar tonight but it was dark by the time I finished so no chance to see if there was a handy gromet anywhere to get the cable through the floor or chance to look behind the lights to see which corner ...
