Re: Steel To Alloy Tyres
I have a Peugoet 406 1.9TD I am lookig to add some alloys. The ones I have seen are 6.5Jx15"ET18 Yet, when i check the service documentation it says that for this model it should be 6.0Jx15"ET20 will the 6.5J fit? What exactly is the 6.5J measurement? What is the ET18 or ET20 measurement that is re...

Re: Clutch/gearchange problems.
Got to be easier than changing the pressure plate.
I'll start there with a cable change then mate.
Cheers again.

Re: Clutch/gearchange problems.
Cheers very much for the advice mate.
It's a 97 2.0 lx so cable.
Looks like it's nothing simple then.
Bother.

Clutch/gearchange problems.
Ok. This is not going well. My clutch pedal has 'lost' most of it's travel and is now nestling down near the carpet. It's still functioning however but the bite is litterally one degree of flat to the floor. Making stalls and lunges impossible to avoid. I'm also having trouble getting into and out o...

Re: Handbrake snap terror!
I've alwys parked in gear, being brought up on a steep hill. I'm waiting for mine to snap, so I can get a handbrake that doesn't reach the roof! Maybe best to bite the bullet and forgo the waiting. Wish Id known mine was in a bad state. Wouldve saved me a bumper. And mine wasnt even that 'high'. :r...

Re: Wheel and Ride height Question.
17's don't ruin the ride, and as you're in Newcastle, you can have a look at mine if you like. I work on Scotswood Rd and I'm about during the week. Live up near Kielder though, so not about all the time. BTW, 195/50's will be too small and make the speedo under-read even more than it does as stand...

Re: Wheel offset question
I run ET18 or thereabouts with my 17's and the wheels sit nice in the arches. No issues with catching anywhere. Not too sure what the standard wheels offset is, but I'm swapping back to the 17's tomorrow so I shall see what it says on the back of the standard rims when I take them off. Cheers dude....

Re: Who's Spotted any "10" reg cars yet?
Only spied a terrible Suzuki Alto so far. As it lives outside my house. It's litterally a hairdressers car, and looks very much like it came out of a kinder egg. The hairdresser seems very pleased with it though. She must have been swayed by that chocolate egg

Re: Handbrake snap terror!
Holey crap! Sorry about the cars but I'm glad you're ok - I read a while back that the owner one of these Passats with the malfunctioning push button handbrake was trying to get into it as it rolled into heavy traffic... We know they stretch but where did it break? *brings forward handbrake...

Re: Wheel and Ride height Question.
i'm planning on doing the same , but why would you put 15inchers on a 406? 18 look sexy , and 17 are optimal =D Staying 15 as i really like the ride. 18s look too MAX POWER and 17s ruin the ride. Thats my opinion, not gospel. 195/50/15s look loveley on any car, and i have some brand new Toyo R1s so...

Wheel offset question
Hi all,
Trying to source 205 1.9 GTI Speedlines or Perhaps 15in Minilites for the 406.
Sure the Speedlines with be a straight fit, but:
Whats the correct offset for 406s?
ET28?
Sure ive heard someone say similar.
But I possibly dreamed it.
