Any way of testing if the child lock switch is the problem?


I think i will take it apart and have a look at it

my thought was as both rear windows do not work from their own switches but work from the drivers panel, then the problem may be related to the child lock switch

i have checked the positions that was my first port of call.

I have noticed on my car that the rear elec windows only work from the drivers control. They do not work from each door switch. With the stereo i have somewhere the correct tools to take a stereo out so i will explore when i get 5 mins, i have noticed that i have to turn the radio on everytime i turn the ignition where all previous cars it comes on automatically

Well i went down to GSF and got a bulb for the boot light as it was not working. I have changed that and still no joy with the light. Before i start to explore the wires i noticed when you remove the light there is a space at the side of the bulb which you could fit a fuse in it. I did mention this ...

One other thing i have noticed

the date and time do not store every time you turn ignition off it reverts to the default setting, tho the radio keeps its stored channels

I have picked up a 406 est today and the tailgate open light is perminantley displayed on the dashboard.

I assume that its going to be something like a bad earth or broken wire

anyone else had this problem and where is best to start looking?
