Re: Garden tidy 2x 406 estates

Mine is the same colour! It also has what you have listed, fortunately no esp either.

Got your pm ok, send me your address and I will post it, if it don't work then just send it back. Sort finances when you are happy.
I think you will need to program it to your ecu?
Cheers

Hi Steve
Sorry for the abismally slow reply.
The indicator stalk is working fine, yours for £30 Inc p&p, I can remove it this weekend if you want it. Happy with PayPal.
Cheers

Garden tidy 2x 406 estates

It's time to make some room in the garden! I have a silver estate on a v plate, it's the 110 hdi but an early one so it's semi mux. I have had a few parts off it for my later hdi so it's up on blocks but needs to go to my local scrappy in the next week or so. The later hdi 110 (blue) is also up for ...

Re: 2.0HDI NOT STARTING (but fires at first)

Smoke coming from the back of the engine is surley a clue that the timing is out as it seems to be firing and blowing exhaust fumes out through the inlet manifold. That said you may also have a leaky exhaust flexi!!! Armchair diagnostics is often so difficult. For anyone doing a quick ecu swop for d...

Re: Guess that knocking noise...

My money would be on the front wishbone rubber bush, the one nearest the rear. These fail at high mileage and are most noticeable when rolling backwards and clunks when the brakes are applied. Easy to check by jacking up, removing the wheel and lower the car onto an axle stand placed under the lower...

Re: P1138 FAULT CODE

A corroded wire within the loom is more than possible as I have had one. It was a power feed to the ECU and a few other components leading to an immobiliser fault. Open up the loom carefully and look for a small blue copper stain, a sure sign the insulation has a crack and water has got to the coppe...

Re: CAN ANYBODY IDENTIFY WHAT THIS IS FOR???

As well as plugging in a code reader you may like to try the following, I pulled it off a website some time ago but cannot remember which. Slow starting and bad hot starting could be low fuel-rail pressure. If the rail pressure sensor does not report 120 bar in the rail, the injectors are not fired....

Re: m-tdi / m-hdi conversion

You have said that the turbo keeps blowing the pipes off, is this because it is running unregulated or have you changed it for a mechanical wastegate type? Great project!

Re: Turbo unit wanted for 110 406 HDI

I would try replacing the solenoid vacuum controller first which is on the engine bulkhead, there are a pair of them, the other controls the EGR valve. I had similar problems and mine was faulty. Try to avoid secondhand ones on ebay as they are just as likley to be faulty, best option is to borrow a...

Not bad, my local indie knocks them out at £5 each and just recently whilst working away I had to get one from Halfrauds and got stung a tenner!!
and that was an own brand.

Re: "Electronic Ignition Fault"

A quick check to see if the bsi is reading the key via the transponder is to open the drivers door with key in the ignition, if you get the usual annoying bleeping then it is ok.
Your problem sounds similar to what I once had, take a look at this.
