Re: selecting gears

The mechanic who changed my clutch recently said that its normally the clutch plate "dragging"(worn) that makes it difficult to get in gear. Get it checked out soon, or the gear linkages will probably come off and leave you without being able to select any gears. (see one of my posts) Do you know ho...

2.0 HDi Rear Brake Pads

Went to change my rear pads earlier as it had stopped raining, as i thought it would be easy (changed front discs and pads well easy) Read through the guides on here, started first side, all went well, removed pins and pads, the piston went back in no problem. Then the caliper would not move, so the...

Back on the road

At last i have found a reliable, really helpful mechanic, with good rates; Motorwize in Hartley Wintney dropped the car off this morning, was lent a car foc, just add fuel, clutch all changed and whil...

Re: Dual mass Flywheel

Thats cool, with my other thread about my clutch change, seem to be getting mixed signals from garages. As they are quoting based on 7 hours labour, but can get a clutch from eurocarparts for £70 and they have looked and dont belive it will take 7 hours to change, what the computer says, so will cha...

Re: Is it new clutch time? Gear lever all gone floppy!!

linkages all done, so can change gear again now....but clutch is worn out, so he is going to give me a discounted price as he did not fix it, so will wait and see what price he comes up with. might just cut my losses as the price seems to vary anything from £300 up to £450 and if the dual mass flywh...

Re: brake caliper bolts

Hi Just changed mine recently, had no problems with the caliper bolts or slider bolts. Had to drill one of the disc screws out, but there was enough left to undo with a screwdriver to knock it round. Or should be enough to grip with mole grips after the disc is off. Had to hammer the discs off as th...
