Re: ABS Ring broke
hi, you can get the rings but you have to know the exact number of teeth on the ring to make sure you get the right one as there are a number of different sizes for the 406. Once postage and packing has been added onto the the rings, it works out as cheap if not cheaper to buy a new CV joint. I did ...

Re: Noise from o/s rear 406 hdi 110. Estate.
Hi, I believe i have experienced this 3 different times and on two of the occassions the sound was exacerbated because the cars were estates and noise from the rear could travel/ be heard more because of the more open space. The cars were My mums old Rover 420, My Dads Primera estate and my old (now...

Re: What a relief - MOT passed!
cheers.
Poddack - nearly took your previous offer up of a "mechanical hand" over the weekend i was getting so annoyed with the fitting the hub back and the butchered ball joint! all okay in the end though, and you wouldnt have liked working in the rain anyway, i certainly didnt!

What a relief - MOT passed!
My fears are over and with the replacement of the cv joint the 406 passed its MOT. No advisories, not even for the hand brake pointing at the sky (it did seem to do its job even though high) and no advisory/fail for what i think can be the rear anti roll bar making noise! Im very happy!

I slacked off the locking nut but when tried to turn the thread it did not seem like it was going anywhere, ill have to have a "third" look! If anyones got any annotated photo...

Re: The handbrake!

Re: Ebay engine cover mounts
ive just been down to a motor spares place today and although i probs paid a little bit though the nose for them i got 4 for £9. When i next go out i will drop by the b&q's just down the road from me and pick up some M6 wing nuts as they are only £1.38 there. You might as well do that too.

Re: Ebay engine cover mounts
ive got the same problem, if you look through old threads on here, someone suggests using renault exhausts mounts, i think they look very similar to the picture you have shown but are considerably cheaper than the ebay price.

Re: Bottom ball joint thread - mullered? WITH PICTURE
Hell yeah, everything sorted with regards to cv joint, hub thread etc etc. Took car for test drive and the new cv joint with the abs ring and a clean of the abs sensor cleared the dashboard light. Well happy!

It was gettin dark when i started on the handbrake but so far i have wound both adjustors in the drum as far as they woul...
