I went from a 406 estate(2003,hdi 110 remapped) to a 407 sw 3 months ago.I did`nt go looking for a 407,i just found it going very cheap.7 years old,2.2 hdi 170,GT spec with red leather,156k miles. It had a new dmf and clutch 5000 miles before i got it,so i dont have to worry about that!!!So far it ha...

Re: O/S Rear door won't open

The problem will be with the deadlocking side of things. It will fail the MOT if the tester cannot open the door,as mine failed last year. The door card comes off easy from the inside with the door shut. Then using a torch, locate the torx screw on the plastic housing, and using a screwdriver etc on the ...

Re: main reason why you chose a 406???

I had a Xantia estate TD VSX before the 406.I was tempted with my Dads 1st 406,on a X reg but it was only a 90 bhp. After driving his 2003 estate 110 bhp a few times,i brought it off the company at 3 years old.By the time i brought it the price had gone up a fair bit,but it was 3 years old,56k miles,...

Re: 6 speed gearbox

After switching to a 407 2.2 hdi 170 6 speed from my 406 110 hdi,i can tell you that the 407 in 6th gear is about 400 rpm lower than the 406.Not much of a difference i thought.
