Re: Breaking 406 2.0HDi 110 Saloon, Many Parts
Hi Kelv, Yeah its such a shame, I was heartbroken. To make matters worse it was my best friend, and he too knew the history of the car and the time and money that had gone into it, so we settled outside of insurance which meant I wasn't left short on what I'd spent on it. The steering wheel is yours...

Breaking 406 2.0HDi 110 Saloon, Many Parts
Afternoon all, Unfortunately my beloved 406 was written off last week, after 18 years in the family from new its time to say goodbye to our girl. I have collected so many bits for it over my years with the car, so will list all I can remember, but for any other requests do feel free to ask. I will t...

Re: Rear electric windows -- very slow
I've given that a go, but I dont think its the rubber causing excess friction to be honest. When its all the way down, it can be as slow as half an inch of movement per second, sometimes taking 15+ seconds from bottom to top.

Rear electric windows -- very slow
Evening all! Been noticing the rear electric windows slowing down over the last year or so on my 406, especially since the inner doors and underside were waxoyled when it last went to the body shop. I'm assuming the waxoyl has got onto some bit of the window mechanism, but I'm not sure. If anyone wi...

Re: How many forum users still actually drive a 406
Good stuff Ben :D Are you still happy with your reconditioned injectors :?: Mines on 128k now & going grand but the injectors are still not right, I've done everything else so might as well sort these out too. Just can't decide whether to get my original ones refurbed or get some newer 307 ones as ...

Re: ROLLING COAL
Ridiculous idea, hate this "rolling coal" fad. All you're doing is contributing to the decline of an already suffering atmosphere. Get yourself in the bin.ReeceAlmond wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 1:32 pm Afternoon all,
Recently put my 406 on the road and was wondering if you can get them to roll coal? Its a 2.0 HDi 110.
TIA.

Buy some #0000 wire wool, use it dry on the glass and really work it. The wool is soft and glass as a material is much harder, so it won't scratch it at all, but it will remove any residue sitting on top with ease. The glass will look brand new after, and bead up nicely. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lib...

Here is the MAF readings from an ECU log recorded from my 406 during a drive. I did several hard runs from 1500rpm to 4500rpm, and plotted the results:

I've rewritten this program in C++ for cross-platform capability and speed, are you able to compile it yourself?

Re: Satnavs or what?
Google Maps is superb, really. When I first started driving, I bought a basic TomTom. Was pretty decent, definitely got us places. Later on, when Google Maps got decent turn-by-turn navigation function built-in, it could do everything my basic TomTom could. Over the years since then, it's only got ...

Re: Satnavs or what?
If you have a decent modern smartphone, Waze is undoubtedly the way to go. Free, has live traffic information and will inform and re-route you round accidents and roadworks, speed camera alerts, etc. Give it a go, and you'll never use a standalone satnav again.

Re: 90 to 110
There's not only power to be gained from a map, the additional fuel economy and refinement brought from the broader, more usable torque curve brings the car to life. As much as the standard output map may suit you, I know you'd be much happier with it mapped. Not to mention the map will eventually p...
