Support your local. (Garage)
I had a small problem with the 406 'family truckster' the EM light came on, eventually I gave in and booked it in with my local mechanic (non Pug). Car was picked up at 09:00 Saturday, at 09:30 it was back in my drive, fixed! I walked back to mechanic to pay the bill. "No charge just give us a drink...

Re: Total loss of power.
Thanx guys, given me some food for thought, it can be a bit frightning when joining a motorway! I'll try ideas, I've also found a local Frog motor "specialist", does Pugs, Cits, and the unmentionable one, so he could be useful as a last resort. Cheers Mike.

Total loss of power.
Hi, twice had a worrying problem of total loss of power, first time accelerating on to M4 after a pee break, two weeks ago, second time coming off a roundabout yesterday. (So its not consistant) On both times it was as if ignition was turned off, dash went blank, followed by engine warning light. Af...

Re: Air con to!!
This may surprise or shock some but a common problem is cats piss type of smell, this I was told by an A/c manufacturer is due to the base ingredients of cheap perfume or aftershave, and the industry (in Japan) has spent loads of Yen trying to overcome it. Current commercial product is "Smelly Jelly...

Re: Air Con question
If you need a leak test and recharge does this mean your a/c dont work? If its lost its charge it is likely its pulled air and moisture in, so when its repaired, evacuated and recharged, you may find they have replaced the filter/drier anyway. Lets say its good practice, but at £30 bit pricey. Good ...

Re: Where can I find my paint code?
This is interesting as our 406 is also sherwood green, did'nt realise there are 4 shades of the stuff, mine matched, perhaps I was lucky! Paint code was on the inside of drivers door post, local Puggerama did ask for VIN No and registration No so maybe this clinched it. Touch ins are £4.48, about ha...
