yeah, toyed last year with getting rid of mine for an A4 avant, even had a look at an estate octavia which was going stupid cheap (53 plate, low mileage, full service history, and immaculate, £1200) while i was looking the timing belt snapped on the 406, so i had to fix it as buying a new car depend...

mine used to work with the button, but the lock would spin, during this phase the keypad immob would not work, had to hold the button on the key while starting. then, without warning keypad lights up, remote locking stops working, and the real mystery? key starts working ok in the door. seems to me ...

oil temp gauge comes on with ignition then doesnt work That's normal behaviour :) Yeah, normally it tells you the oil level when you first switch the ignition on, then it acts as the Oil Temp, so it takes a while for the oil to reach it normal temp... You got any pictures of the car mate? its meant...

Shame as I think the estate would look nicer without them but since the were totally standard there will be no official hole plugging kit so could be tricky to make something nice enough looking never mind being able to seal them. just to give a wee update, finally found the issue.
an electrical plug had popped out of the boost hose.
cars running as sweet as a nut now.
now, lets fix these darn electric mirrors for the 3rd time..........

ok, so went and got a pipe this morning (£5) , after much swearing i got it fitted, filled it up with coolant, and it now holds water and temparature just fine.
