Re: Rear Seat Stuck

Tried this and it works. :D
Is there any way of preventing this problem recurring? (apart from not putting the seats down)

Rear Seat Stuck

I had the rear seat in my 2002 D9 estate down today. When I tried to put the 2 seat section back up I couldn't. On examination the central seat belt inertia has locked and doesn't allow enough travel to get the seat back up. Is there any way I can release this or how do I get access to the inertia r...

Re: Cheap Exhaust

Forgot to mention that it's an estate and obviously longer.
Does that make a difference?

Cheap Exhaust

Just come back from main stealers where I had to get key reprogrammed - cheaper than I thought! Whilst they had the car they did a free Visual Health Check and amongst other things noted that the Exhaust backbox and and mid section heavily corroded . They offered a Fitted Price inc VAT to remedy thi...

Re: FUEL READING ON 406 HDI (90)BHP 2002

Hi Parcelman

I have experienced exactly the same problem when the gauge jumps from ¼ full to just over ½ full.
This is believe is an electrical problem.
There is a current thread on this in the electrics system.

Re: One way window

Hi Gary This sounds exactly the same as the problem I had. Certainly, dismantling and cleaning will not do any harm. The problem with bad contacts is that they are not always consistent. I advise photographing every stage to help rebuild. I also have a more complete range of photographs on this whic...

Re: One way window

Having recovered from the shock of an £86+ replacement part, I decided to try and overhaul the old unit. Removal from the door is easy, just prise out the cap at the bottom of the door handle recess, it clips in fore and aft so lever out from the side. Once this is removed then remove the screw, #15...

Re: One way window

If you are interested I have a Brand new 4 way electric window switch assembly for sale for £40
Would be very interested but mine is only 2 way and I'm not sure if it would fit or not.
Many thanks anyway.

Re: One way window

Thanks guys. I went down to the local stealer for a new switch. After enquiring after one of these the counter assistant had to sit down and be revived with smelling salts before informing me that one of these would £86+. Has anybody any experience of stripping down an electric window switch. It see...

One way window

The drivers window on my 02 406 has a mind of it's own. It opens without problem but doesn't want to know about closing. Eventually it will go up, at normal speed, but about 10 minutes after I have started trying to close it. Fortunately my Pug has a superb heater. I first noticed this problem at th...

If the car's facing uphill, it will under-read If the car's facing downhill, it will over-read I live in Peterborough. We don't do hills. Car was parked in exactly the same spot as usual. The gauge had been reading under ½ full for a few days prior. It now still reads above ½ since Sunday/Monday des...

Magical Fuel Gauge

I had a funny thing happen with my fuel gauge in the last couple of days. On Sunday night I had about 3/8ths of a tank of fuel and the computer advised that I had about 160 miles before I had to refuel. On the Monday morning I had 5/8th of a tank and about 300 miles before needing to refuel. The car...

Drivers door removal

The drivers door on my 02 registered 406 appears to have moved slightly forwards. I would like to loosen the hinges and move back about ¼ -½". This would also allow me to set the door slightly further out, at present there is a slight step between the drivers door and the rear door and the bottom of...
