Re: P0400 Code
You can certainly disconnect/plug the vaccum pipe from the EV to the vaccum pump/servo, (no need to touch the one from the EV to the EGR). Disconnecting the EV electrically will cause an error, something to the effect of 'solenoid open circuit'. Disconnecting the vacuum pipe as above and/or blanking...

I stumbled across the one I thought I'd thrown out recently. PM me if you want it.

Happy New Year all. Well done young Welton, good to hear things are working out. Sorry to hear about Capt & GM's child health issues, feel for you both. We've finally got an EV, cept it's Mrs Doggy's new-to-her mobility scooter. She's not doing too badly but definitely misses that bit of lung hence ...

Re: high pressure fuel pipe leak
Me too. Never had this problem in 10+ years and about 200k miles with 2.2 HDis, (or heard of it before). :? https://ci.catcar.info/peugeot/img/pr/77/00011277.jpg Guess you're talking about pipe 6 in the picture above? If you haven't already, suggest checking the security of the fixings for the commo...

Re: Changed Battery now car will not start (Immobiliser fault)
Sounds like you did everything right, just not sure if there is a requirement to wait between making the final battery connection before switching on the sidelights. I guess you have nothing to lose by disconnecting it again, (observing the same precautions), waiting say 5 minutes before reconnectin...

Re: 6-Speed Gearbox
Hi and welcome aboard. I don't honestly know if you could swap the internals, but suspect not as the ML6C is physically a little bigger. Are you sure it's worth doing with a 110 HDi? It may not be able to make much use of the higher top gear. Bear in mind my conversion was on a modified 2.2 Hdi with...

Re: DIY Belt Change
My technique was to use a breaker bar with two 1/2 extension bars so you're outside the wheelarch. Needs an assistant to press the brake pedal with top gear selected. In extreme cases something to support the business end of the breaker bar lets you apply significantly more force. Removed one in a s...

Sorry, I can't locate the one I had - think I must have thrown it out when no one asked for it last time.

Re: Engine elastic bracket
I haven't owned a 406 for years, so can't advise the correct orientation, but I think you could find it on this site with a 'lower engine mount' search. If there's visible wear and tear on #7, you probably should change it. I still think vibration felt through the steering will turn out to be wheel ...

Re: Engine elastic bracket
I would say that's very unlikely. You most lilely have a wheel balance or tyre irregularity issue. Try swapping your spare with all of the others in turn to prove it either way. The most common engine mounting issue is with the right hand bracket (31) or more specifically the bush (32). If you decid...

Re: Electric fan. How to test if working?
You don't need a compressor, the fan is tiny and would probably be destroyed by overspeeding.

Re: Electric fan. How to test if working?
The small fan runs all the time to pass air over the interior temperature sensor, (a small bead thermistor locted immediately in front of the fan blades).
Pop the cover off and try cleaning the dust off the fan blades by blowing air through a straw at it - worked for me.

Hi and welcome (back) aboard.
Feel free to browse the wealth of information hereabouts.
Mass Air Flow merters, (MAF) are probably the most common cause of sluggish performance on 2.2 HDis
