Re: Oil extractor question

You're all a bunch of pansies. If your armpit isn't full of oil at the end of an oil change, did you even change the oil? :supafrisk: I guess you're right - I've even taking to wearing gloves   I think to me it's more about the time; jacking the car, axle stands, wrestle the undertray (...

Oil extractor question

I believe some of you have used a vacuum pump of some kind to drain the engine oil without using the drain plug with the added 'fun' of fighting with under-trays etc. I'm keen to give this a go as the Cistern has started whingeing about a service...

Any recommendations on a suitable gadget?

TIA

Nice kittens there, enjoy. 8) At least you're not worrying how your dad's getting on in the current chaos. He's 87, got terrible arthritis, but he just doesn't know how to relax... Now there's a surprise, guess you inherited that particular trait. I, on the other hand, am perfectly capable of doing ...

Re: Ebay Etc. Just "Run-In" 406s

My original 406 did this every time t'wife moved the seat to her favoured all-the-way-back/bolt upright/sky high position, accompanied by the classic 'B' type display error message, "AIRBAG WARNING". (I may have observed it had detected she was aboard). After a year or two I replaced the s...

Re: 406 V6 Break from the Netherlands

Hi Tim & welcome aboard. 8) That is a fine looking car you have there. Also an impressive list of upgrades, particularly Auto to manual conversion How difficult was that? (I imagine you would have problems with ecu programming, gear calculation for cruise control, scaling of speedometer an...

Re: Is it too late for a change?

Now you're talking. Testing, inspections or even the occasional installation job will give you the means to rake in some cash until you get on your feet. If you're crafty you'll find a way to set something like this and/or your detailing dream up and running in a small way before you take the plunge...

Re: Is it too late for a change?

I was in your shoes for most of my 30's, 40's & 50's, had a well paid job / longish commute that took about 12 hours a day, frequently wrecked weekends and holidays plus emergency calls at 3am etc. I dreamed of jacking it in and setting up on my own, (I started as an electrician too but specialised ...

Re: Help antipollution fault and MAF stuff

Hi & welcome aboard. 8) I think you might get more help form the 407 forum or facebook group, as their experience will be more relevant than ours. I have a 2009 C5 2.0 HDi but am unable to communicate with the engine ecu unless I use settings for a 407. The information available by this method is ve...

Re: Electric window voltages

Video confirms your previous post, which was pretty clear anyway.
I hope the switch change works.
One other thing you might try in the meantime is unplugging and re-plugging any accessible connectors, (switch, motor etc.) you may just have an oxidised connection somewhere.

Let us know.....

Re: 406 v6 XFZ ECU not working

Probably, but not for certain. The engine ecu uses a different data connection to the other devices, (the 'K' line I believe) so its possibly also a different fuse. Fuseboard layouts vary so it's definitely worth thoroughly checking every 10A fuse in the engine bay fusebox, or all the small fuses fo...
