Guys
I was wondering if anyone has had the same problems as me.
Evertime I start my 406 HDI the climate control with the ac comes on even though i turn it off before i cut the engine. the funny thing is it only does it when i leave the car over night.....

Hi guys Ive got a 406 2.0 HDi 110 on a 2000. Its done nearly 125k miles now - on my normal run to work which is from bradford to leeds id say am getting around 46mpg - i dont have a computer so ive had to do my own calculation. My journey is a combination of Motorway (during traffic so ave of 50mph)...

Puggy's lucky with no leak at all......i spoke to the garage yesterday he just said drive it for this week as they were really busy yeasterday. He said its normal for there to be some kind of oil around the engine seals but nothing to worry about and the head gasket doesnt normally go on theses........

When I say 'air pipe' am refering to the intercooler pipe - the one which runs from the top of the intercooler...... I took the car to my local garage today for them to have a look at the oil, ive been told there should be some oil in the intcooler pipe - he said something about oil cooler..... with...

Thanks guys. The initial problem I had was the engine temp would stay cold even after a long run. So I decided to change the stat in case it was faulty, to get the housing off I decided to remove the air pipe, I found a small amount of oil in the pipe more like a film of oil rather than a sludge. Hi before i changed the stat i took of the botton pipe (have to release tap on the rad) then took the top pip off and removed the housing. since there wasnt a stat in there i decided to use some rad flush - so i put the pipes back together and filled her up let it run to temp on idle opened the blee...

Thanks for your reply, Am a petrol man my self too, ive turned to the HDi to cut on fuel costs but still have my M3 which i only run on the weekend.... I understand both sides of the logic for the oil flush.....maybe some more experienced guys on here would have more of an insight to this debate.......
