Re: ebay drop links

I had a set of rear droplinks from ebay and they lasted about a year/18000 miles. I go up and down a dirt track full of pot holes about 5 to 6 times a day and i live in a rural area where the roads aren't great. If you live in a town they would last longer i think. You get what you pay for i pay a b...

CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

I'm doing the bottom pulley tommorow figured out how the tensioner works i used a 15mm ring spanner with another one hooked over the end to give more torque and locked it off ok with small allen key. I liberated a set of tensioners from the breakers just in case my ones are knackered cost £10 so cou...

Re: knocking noises

The usual suspects are the roll bar links or the stabiliser links on the back they usually make knocking noises when they are worn out. Replacing the roll bar links is not too bad i bought a set of them recently for about £22 from motor factors took 1-2 hrs to do myself 3/8 ratchet with 17mm socket ...

Re: rear brake caliper how does it work?

I just re-furbished a rear caliper a couple of days ago so i can help you here . It sounds like the sliders could be seized . Inside the 2 little rubber boots theres a metal piece that slides in and out of the caliper body. One is a smaller boot (guide pin bolt goes through it). The larger slider/bo...

Re: Rear Brake Back Plates.... again!

Those backplates seem to rust badly. Mines got holes in them i just patched them up with some fibreglass and gave them a coat of hammerite. Thats about all you can do really.

MOTAQUIP

Hi i've been looking online last night at motaquip parts. What is the quality like and has anyone bought their discs and pads? They seem to be about half the price of what peugeot charge. I've just found out that they are part of PSA group (peugeot/citroen) which i wasn't aware of and a couple peopl...

Re: FRONT SUSPENSION ARMS

I've just fitted the new suspension arms today. The old ones that came off were knackered, when you push down on the old ones you could see the rubber perishing under the force of pushing down. It all went okay took about 2.5 hours to do both sides the car corners better now need a new set of tyres ...

Re: Lower Ball Joint Retaining Nut

When i did a cv boot on my car recently i used the balljoint nut again the nylock was ok so i re-used it. Not had any problems so far. Like the haynes manual sa...
