I wouldn't say I'm hard, but Death recently had a near-Turbolag experience!
I'm as big a pussycat as a squaddie-cum-copper can be, not least of which is because I'm very lazy really.

Re: a strange one lol
the other thing to take into account is alcohol here. a tattoo can be interpretted very differently when someone is drunk to when they were sober. what is a nice inoffencive tattoo can be quite the opposite after a few jars. Problem is, when someone's that drunk they're liable to simply interperet ...

Re: in the market to buy a coupe any advice
The remap cured mine. It also cured the tendency on the fly-by-wire throttle body to keep rising in revs for a second after you've lifted off, when accelerating hard in t'lower gears. The stock system is very wooly on the 407.

Re: in the market to buy a coupe any advice
It was at Superchips. I saw on their website that they did one for the 2.2 607, but not the 407. I rang them up, and they said this is cos the 407 has 3 different ignition systems, none of which are shared with he 607. Typical Peugeot! I don't live far from Superchips HQ in Buckingham, so I took her...

Re: in the market to buy a coupe any advice
Dunno about on the 406, but in the 407 when you lift off to change gear the engine shuts the fuel off very abruptly, making upchanges very jerky on the 2.2. I've tried sustained changes, the lot, and it was nigh on impossible to make a smooth upchange. The remap lets a dribble of fuel in on the over...

Roger that, apart from the lurch, though I don't know if the 406 was better in that regard than the 407. A nice induction kit gives it a pleasant almost V6 throb through the lower revs, unleashing that long-stroke warble.

Re: in the market to buy a coupe any advice
Petrol, with the Marelli management. It rolled dead on 163 at the begining, and some 40 minutes later ran 191.7 on the same rollers. They reckoned it might've given more, but the gas analyser showed it was approaching MOT limits, so they trimmed it back a touch to 191 and I was very happy. I wasn't ...

Re: a strange one lol
The dibble don't recruit people with tattoos visible while wearing normal day clothing, or any sexist or racist tattoos. Alas, when I joined there were no such rules so my nekked chicks are all but unique now on an english bobby. A lot of offices won't accept folk with visible tattoos, which seems s...

Re: in the market to buy a coupe any advice
The 2.2 manual petrol is only a third of a second slower than the 3.0 auto. Best of all the 2.2 can be remapped to 191 BHP (as is the same motor in my 407) which put's it above the PWR of the V6, without the complication.

Re: in the market to buy a coupe any advice
My only advice is not to buy a cheap snotter. It's cheaper in the long run just to buy a straight one.

Re: LX/GLX - What's the difference?
Early D9 LX's had a cassette as standard, but CD player was something like only 30 notes extra. I think 2000 the Cd player became standard. Early D9 LX's had no plastic wood trims on the doors. IIRC alloys were an option on the early D9 LX's. My 99 LX had the electronic aircon, though others the sam...

Re: Buying a 106
Lowering makes them worse. The spring rate is pretty good as standard, it's the feeble damping that makes them feel unstable. Lowering just uses up suspension travel on these and makes them even more likely to get in a slapper on the limit. Plus it looks chav. I did test drive a GTi and wish I'd bou...
