Breaking 406 2.1 Estate

Hello I am breaking this, not because it has failed an MOT, or that it is a bad car but simply because it needs a new Diesel Pump and the age and condition of the car makes this an un-economic repair. The car still runs, in fact really well at 2500 + rpm, it just don't idle very well. I will sell it...

Re: 2.1 TD GLX VERY erratic idle???

Hi Where is this sensor? is it on the fuel filter housing? The problem has taken a new twist though. To get around to problem I pulled the throttle cable up tight which gives me around 2500rpm, BUT if I put my foot on the brake it drops to 1100 RPM but only after a second or 2. As soon as I take it ...

Re: 2.1 TD GLX VERY erratic idle???

I forgot to mention if I disconnect the throttle potentiometer. it runs as smooth as you like at idle. This makes me think it is not the pump. Also it has just had a replacement pump and was working fine. The replacement pump is displaying the same traits, but has only done about 500 miles or less s...

Also when warm it will cut out unless I heal toe it whe...

EPIC Diesel Pump & Key Coding

Hello guys I am about to put a replacement pump in from a donor car. The question has been raised as to weather the pump electronics are coded for security to the key. Anyone know whats what with this? I am not sure if theis shoud be posted in electrical or mecanical so I'v done both. Sorry :| Biggles
