Re: radiator fan

Don't do bridging connectors on these cars as a rule of thumb. There are some circuits / BSI or ECU paths which cannot handle 12v. If bridging feeds more current than it can handle, there's a chance of you burning either the ecu or BSI. As pugmaster said locate the fan sensor, unplug and see. Else, ...

Re: Suspension Height

Me tend to think its specific towards diesel 406s where front suspension / coil is stiffer than rear. Rear must be same for diesel and petrol.

Mine looks lowered on the front than rear and a friend has a 405 and also a 406 diesel. Both looks extra elevated on the front than rear.

Re: show me your reversing sensors

I use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330340144598 (the colour match on metallic red and silver has been perfect) and ask them to stic...

Re: transmission oil filler

remove the bolt kind of plastic thing on the second picture and you will find the filler point. You will have to use a can which is fitted to a tube which can be sent inside through this opening.

can be due to bad brushes in the alternator if the belt is in good nick. Early inspection on the alternator might prevent a failure I assume.

Re: Slightly dodgy second hander - speedo fault

Don't think its a D8 - new car and all - read up on gear linkages though and could be that, the gear stick has to be way forward to engage 1st, so far your hand knocks the dash. Got some WD40 so off to find the connectors! if it's way forward, I assume there's a bit of a free play. If it's D9, then...

Re: 2 really annoying problems. please help

Your clutch is controlled by a hydraulic system, you could check your fluid level. Problems with boost on the HDi can sometimes be caused by a split in one of the intercooler pipes. When did she last get a service? I would also make sure your air filter is good. what about those tiny vacuum lines a...

Re: Failing to start unless bumped 1st thing every morning.

Does it crank? and if yes, does it crank in a good speed to fire-up the engine? if both the answers are yes, then the battery and the charging circuits are fine and the issue is with fuel line, fuel pressure and/or fuel flows back to the tank

Re: Rear door wont unlock

Hi, my drivers side rear door is stuck fast. I can unlock it from the key fob or from the inside of the door itself, and it makes a sound like its unlocking, but it wont open. I have taken the door card off from the inside and the levers are all attached. I can pull them both (the open and unlock l...
