Re: Peugeot / Vauxhall deal

Peugeot is actually in (partly) good order again. Sales are going upwards too. The same can't be said about Opel though. Peugeot announced that Sochaux will be completely renewed with newest technology to increase production possibilities and economy.

We'll see, I guess.

LOL on the Iran sentence! :D

Re: New to this forum - Hello from Germany

Hi Sonia, I think we also spoke to each other on Facebook! I have not fitted a cone filter, in fact I'm now back to standard OEM air filters. I have had a K&N filter, which, after I cleaned and reoiled it, brought up a "mixture regulation fault" (I guess some of the filter oil got sucked into the ai...

the switch assembly is a complete unit, but perhaps the drivers side switch has dropped inside the holder? Does it go down any further when you press on it?

Re: One door no longer triggers the interior lights

Some 406 saloon / estates have - the higher spec ones, GTX, Executive, SE, possibly some others. Being a V6, the OP's car may well have them so definitely worth checking. Quickest thing to check, then ;) It must be one circuit through the door lock and the bulb and then going back into the car / bs...

Re: Travelling in France and beyond beware

In Germany, we indeed have emission class stickers on our cars (not only 2nd hand ones, every car needs them except Oldtimers on H(historical vehicale)-plates. They range from red (very bad) to yellow and green (allowed everywhere). Red and yellow are forbidden to enter most big cities nowadays. How...

Re: Underbody frame rail damage due to improper jacking

Wow, that's nasty. I have jacked up my coupe using the frame rails a few times but this never happened - I guess they're much stronger than on the other 406 variants then?

Re: One door no longer triggers the interior lights

do the saloon / estate 406 have a door light on their door cars (puddle lights)? The coupe does, and when I had a blown bulb in it, it wouldn't turn on interior lights and MFD door open message either, bulb replaced, problem solved. This was on a 2000 D9 Coupe. :cheesy:

Re: Time for a change?

We also had a failed crank pulley on a mate's 2.2 hdi, made a horrible rattling! It was so loud we thought it's the engine itself giving up the ghost. We also checked the timing belt and pulleys and all good there. After removal of the crank pulley we found play in it (play between rubber and outer ...
