Re: HDI 90 engine issue
Evening lads, Thanks for the replies. I took the car out yesterday for a drive with the MAF disconnected it drove so much better, I cleared the Engine light too. I've ordered a second hand MAF sensor. For now I have sprayed the sensor with WD-40 Contact Spray cleaner, tested the car without the MAF ...

Good afternoon, I need to help from you guys again, I recently had my Peugeot 406 HDI Rapier 2000 seviced. Any idea what this is called?
Good afternoon,
I'm just wonder if you lovely people would be able to identify this part of my car that has decided to go rotten.
It's from under the spare wheel, its like a metal cap/Drainage bung.
Looked online to find a suitable replacement to cover the whole, not luck

Thanks for the swift reply, I found them this morning still with their factory covers on the holes.
Now to find a rack that fits and looks nice.

Re: Bought another 406
I've had the car a year so far as my mother gifted it to me for my birthday etc.... I noticed a loud sloshing of water on the passenger side for ages and it always happened after rain/water on the roads, I've noticed another fellow member of this club has mentioned the same noises. The garage was J....

Roof racks
Hello and Good afternoon,
I was looking on the internet for a decent set of roof racks for my car and I'm slighty puzzled if I can fit them as there is no obvious mounting points.
Can anyone please advise on if its possible to mount them on a 2000 406 HDi 90?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Bought another 406
I've just had my 406 HDI 90 fail its Mot on both the Sills and the Rear suspension mounts. :frown: Taken it to a local garage to be qouted the lovely sum of £320.00, is this a common issue with these cars? The guy in the garage says its a know issue with 406's as they tend to rot on the back...

Re: Strange noise coming from front of car!
I've recently had the clutch replaced as it exploded while driving home after work, left the car with no gears lol.
When the car is left in neutral nothing can be heard, its fine on idle.

Re: Strange noise coming from front of car!
I've noticed that the noise is there most of the time and the whining is very noticable at low speeds when I slow down when no foot on the gas. Last night I had a brake fluid warning flashing on the display and handbrake logo flashing on and off when I stopped outside my flat, I've checked the fluid...

Re: Strange noise coming from front of car!
Hello PeterN,
The noise is very prominent at lower speeds, anything above 40mph and its gone.
It was not there yesterday but came back this morning, sounds like the left hand side etc..

Re: Fans not working?
Good morning,
Sorry for the late reply, I forget that I'm on this group.
The fans are fine up to full speed, then they shutdown and stay off for over 30 mins. I'ver tried putting them on to low settings to reset but no luck in this weather.
Many thanls for the reply
