Re: Retrofitting cruise control 2003 Peugeot 406

Hi All Just picking up on this thread as I would like to fit cruise to my 2002 406 110HDi Rapier Estate. Is there a list of things I need to do anywhere? From what I can see: Find a red cable above the brake pedal and fit a switch adjacent to the brake light switch Fit the cruise stalk Get the setup...

Re: New Clutch Required, looking for advice.

Cool - tell Graham that Kelv sent you . :cheesy: Hi Kelv, just got car back and had clutch, DMF, bearing, slave cylinder, gearbox oil, engine oil/filter, tyres pumped up and service light reset. The old girl is good for another 200k miles and back to being used as a daily commuter and business driv...

Re: New Clutch Required, looking for advice.

A guy called Graham at Scotter Autos - he was based in St Christopher's Garage but moved to Wilverly Rd in Christchurch a few years back. He has since teamed up with a younger mechanic so between the two of them they can pretty much cover all bases. He has been looking after my Peugeot's for over 2...

Re: New Clutch Required, looking for advice.

When my clutch was slipping on my older 406, I ummed and ahhed about fixing it, but I really liked the car so I got the work done. I found a new 'old stock' clutch on eBay for about £60 The flywheel was around the £230 mark. My local independent Peugeot specialist did the work for me ( such a decen...

Re: New Clutch Required, looking for advice.

The cars never wanted for anything in the time I've had it other than a good clean, always been bang on with maintenance and doubt 1k will get me anything that can compete so I'm going take the plunge and get it done.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Re: New Clutch Required, looking for advice.

Thanks Doggy. Two of the garages have quoted 8hrs and one 10.5hrs labour so you must be pretty slick to do it in 5! Probably they're being cautious and dropping the subframe as you said. Will do a bit more digging around and make sure the quotes are using oem kit. Will let you know how I get on, che...

New Clutch Required, looking for advice.

Hi All Sadly the clutch on my 110 HDi went pop the other day and I'm in that situation where the repair will probably equal or exceed the value of the car, but it's worth more to me than an alternative. After 11 years cheap and reliable graft it's going to take some beating. I have had a few quotes ...

Re: Blower motor

Hi All Apologies for joining this thread a little late in the day, but I'm experiencing the similar problems on my 2002 110HDi Estate. The display shows auto or fan icon with blades filled or unfilled depending on how much fan I want, but the fan is not working. I'm not 100% certain where to start, ...

GingerMagic wrote: Thu Jan 03, 2019 9:57 pm You might get away with these wheels then - try it and see :cheesy: The 206 has an ET of 20-25 so only 10mm difference.

The offset and ET are the same thing, maybe the ET number is stamped on the back somewhere for clarification.
Excellent cheers, will report back tomorrow..! 8)

I think they were from a 206CC.
Is ET the offset? Is there anywhere on the wheel where it is marked?

Wheel change and offset

Hi all I have a 2002 Rapier Estate with 205/60/15 and bought some cheap 17" Peugeot alloys, with 205/50/17 tyres. I'm hoping they fit and having read previous posts, there is talk of offset and that it should be similar or the same to prevent rubbing. Is there a way of telling by looking at the whee...

Re: I just bought a peugeot 406

I've been loving my 406 Estate for 5 years now and the times I've had that handbrake played with! Finally at the last MoT it needed rear discs, pads and a calliper.. No longer rubbish, but drove with a constant rubbing noise. Some grinding and a thorough clean later and thankfully I had a working an...
