Oil selection?

Hi folks, A quick question. I have the 406 2.0 Hdi (110) and service my car usually once a year. I tend to put in good quality magnatec oil 5w40 spec. I recently swapped the wifes car and am left with 2 full containers of magnatec 5w30. My question is, can I use this in the peugeot instead of the us...

Re: Vaccuum pipe location?

Ok finally manages to locate it. It was halfway down the engine, however it was on the drivers side. Easy to miss as its well hidden. I ended up jacking the car and removing the wheel to get a better view which proved the best course of action and ended with a happy result. Thanks for the help thoug...

Re: Vaccuum pipe location?

Hi Gazz. If you reach down from the passenger side, between the throttle sensor and the EGR pipework, you should feel the turbo diaphragm about halfway down tucked under the exhaust manifold - it feels like a semi circle with a pipe inlet sticking out sideways. You can't see it, only feel it... You...

Vaccuum pipe location?

Hi Guys, Sorry for sounding really stupid but I need a hand. I was greasing up the universal joint on my 110 hdi from above by using the "jam the arm down the back method" and I managed to knock off one of the vaccuum pipes. It is the left hand pipe on the left hand servo and I cannot for the life o...

Re: Clutch arm problem

HI Jasper. Finally worked it out. Turns out there are 2 clutch kits for the dual mass system and, one of which has a large lip. We were supplied with this one from the motor factors as it's the only one they stock. Having measured ever bit of the kit against the old one we finally managed to pinpoin...

Re: Clutch arm problem

The pedal only has half travel as the arm is almost right out.

(Halfway between floor and normal position). The system was fully bled so can't work out what the problem can be except possibly a bent fork?

ps. Yes reattached the bearing each time

Re: Clutch arm problem

Ok turns out this has all been tried. But the clutch is almost all the way out. Does the clutch release fork bend easily? I have read about folk having to replace them and wondered if this is an issue and if so how can you tell if it's slightly bend. Sounds stupid but it's the only thing I can think...

Clutch arm problem

Hi folks, First post so first things first. Excellent forum with a heck of a lot of terrific content so well done to all concerned and I look forward to putting in my tuppence worth where possible. My problem is a head scratcher in that I have a 2002 406 2.0 hdi (110) estate, had it for 5 years and ...
