An update, as per in the thread "garden tidy 406 estates" I replaced the COM2000 with a good replacement unit, job was a good'un, until today, when after disconnecting the battery (using the correct procedure) to replace the ciggy lighter, upon reconnecting,(using the correct procedure) side lights ...

Sadly, I am back to square #1 with this COM2000 as again I have no side lights!

There must be something else causing these units to malfunction......

Mine did that when one of the other doors wasn't shut properly.....

Ian's COM2000 arrived today, job done, pending a proper test drive tomorrow, so far so good!

Insurance wise: I think it would be best for me to insure it with her as a named (additional) driver under my supervision. Someone else we know did this and the cost was quite reasonable on the basis that the learnee is not driving alone? We are just about to insure our 17 year old daughter to lear...

The part numbers are not important, only the functions ( fogs, rear wiper, auto lights, trip computer etc ) and if it has ESP.... 8) That's interesting, I thought I had to find the exact one! Ian, mine does not have cruise control. It does have auto lights, auto wipers, front and rear fogs and audi...

I'm still here, still running a 406.......

though as I write, it sits on my drive with it's steering wheel and air bag removed while I try to find a
replacement COM2000 which won't break the bank.......
