406 HDi Rapier estate X reg - pics added

Post by Tubthumper » Sat Nov 21, 2015 8:20 pm

Hi all,

Just a tentative putting a feeler out but....

At some point in mid December I will more than likely be selling my 406, as my new job provides me with transport through the week and my wifes car can do the weekend trips.

It's a 2000 on an X , Rapier spec in silver, 153K, MOT until end Jan 2016 , towbar, roof bars, recent full exhaust.Inside is in really good condition and the outside is consumate with a 15 year old car but pretty good and cleans up well. ( it's even still got the boot net ! )

A few issues to mention ; the speedo sometimes stops working for a few miles and then springs back into life. The wipers sometimes don't park at the bottom of the screen, the OBC sometimes tells me the brake fluid level is low, but this appears to be a handbrake switch issue according to this very forum. I had the aircon regassed a while back, which worked well for a whole 24hrs before all the gas fell out, so it has a leak somewhere in the system. The heater and climate control work as they should though.
For the next MOT, even though it had no advisories on the last one, I always get a service report on what may need doing in the near future, which this year was a front droplink, possible front flexi's, poss front shock, top engine mount had slight play and front discs were getting thin.( rear drums had new shoes and cylinders last year ) Like I say, none of these were bad enough to warrant an advisory notice, but I like to know what may need doing next.

Also, if anyone wants to pop over to have a look, you are more than welcome and the kettle is always on,

I have had it serviced every year at MOT time since buying it 4 years ago and I have a few invoices from previous owners including one for a new injector pump (£1200 !! ).
It currently sits on a set of 15" coupe wheels (Starfish), and I also have the original alloys. All centre caps present as well as locking nuts.

Price wise, I appreciate it's got a short MOT and may well need a few little jobs doing for the next one, but as a reliable HDi estate, ready to go I reckon she'll do someone a good turn for £250 :)

I'm in Aston Clinton, Bucks. HP22

Thanks, Malc.

I am interested in the car. A few questions as follows:
1. Is there a spare key.
2. Is the remote locking working.
3. Any idea when timing belt done.
4. Any picture of inside boot and is there a boot cover.
5. Are the spare wheel going with it.

Evening ;

I've provisionally sold this today, although it's not being collected until Wednesday.

. Is there a spare key. - It's got 1 x remote key and 1x spare ordinary key
2. Is the remote locking working. - yes
3. Any idea when timing belt done.- There's a sticker in the engine bay that states it was last changed at 49K
4. Any picture of inside boot and is there a boot cover - I'll try and get a pic of the boot tomorrow, but it's all clean and still has the original cargo net. Yes, the boot load cover is there and in good working order
5. Are the spare wheel going with it.- they certainly are, as well as an unused spare in the car.

Thanks,

Malc.

Yep, no problem. It'll also come with a Haynes manual.

Sorry about that, especially as they were also in good condition with matching Goodyear Efficient grips.

All I've got left is a set of 5 dial clocks, a NSR rear lamp unit, with very slight damage and a boxed oil filter.
