Working 2 hours away from home has taken it's toll on the car. I haven't been able to wash it for 6,000miles! :(

I decided yesterday I better get my act together and get it cleaned. Not just for cosmetics but to make sure there is some protection on the paint over winter!
Started off with the wheels. Bilberry @ 5:1 with a little aggitation.
Then I prewashed the car using APC at 10:1 with hot water using a superspray. I used a brush to get into all the nooks and crannies before rinsing the prewash off the car with the pressure washer.
Car was washed using Meguiars Hyperwash and the two bucket method with a duragloss mitt.
The car was clayed with Bilt Hamber clay.
I polished the car with Autoglym Super Resin Polish to clean the paint, fill some fine scratches and leave a good base for an LSP.

The LSP in question was Meguiars #16. This is a cheap as chips wax that I always forget that I own and how good it is until I use it!

Rumoured to be the old forumla for Zymol Carbon it was released by Meguiars in 1951 and even to this day some modern waxes that cost many times as much don't compete with it! I usually use Swissvax Onyx or Raceglaze #55 on my car which cost 5x as much yet the #16 seems to give the car the same warmth as both waxes and yet the durability far exceeds either of them.
Absolute bargain for £11!

So anyway afters!

I love this angle. Makes the car look very planted and sure footed. In my opinion is what 'stance' should be about.

Just the inside to do now :(

My compliments :D

You really are the man with cleaning/detailing 8)

What do you mean by 2 bucket method?

You have a bucket with clean water in and a bucket with soapy water.

You take your clean mitt or sponge, dunk it in the soapy bucket and wash a panel.
Then use the clean bucket to rinse any dirt and grit off the mit before putting it back in the soapy bucket!

Just ensures you don't scratch the paint with any grit or dirt on the mitt.

Made a bit of a tool of myself. I forgot my car doesn't go on the drive because I've lowered it. Forgot about it untill I heard the bang and the scrape

had a look underneath and didn't do any damage just took a load of underseal off... well I say a load it was 2" by about 10".
Jacked the car up this morning and give the damaged section a few coats of waxoil. Sorted!

Painted them before I fitted them.
Keyed them up with some wire wool. Wipe down with isopropanol alcohol. Few coats of Hammerite silver and jobs a goodun!
Calipers painted in Hammerite hammered gold. Anti vibration clip painted in Hammerite silver!
Looks classy when it's clean!

Every time I bloody clean this car a bird takes a dump on it! It's been absolutley filthy for about 3 months and not once has it been craped on. Less than 24 hours after I scrub it a bird and crapped all over it.

They're pissed off because they can't get under it to shelter from the rain, so show their appreciation in the customary manner.

Ithink when birds take a dump on a shiny car its because they see it as water , pond/lake.
ibelieve its abirds natural instinct to take adump in water. fish eggs n all that.

akeen fisherman once told me that's how fish got into lakes etc from bird shite.. logic in it idunno.

ilike airrifles :D

My wife's bright yellow car gets a lot attraction from fly's and bees and stuff.
ialways thought it was just something in the Wax/polish that gets used on it usualy Meg's stuff
but its never happened on the other cars using same stuff,

weirdly it don't get bombarded with olde pidgeon shite just insects,. :?
