After years of intensive research I have concluded that the best way to avoid a hangover is not to drink in the first place :cheesy:

Bit of a nuisance living in an area stuffed full of vineyards though...

sorry mate :D
it would be too much to even try to imagine, no red bull seems enough, i cant stand the smell of alcohol thats why ive never drank any, vodka smells like paint thinners.
Not drinking also seems the way to avoid being sick every morning after.

It's bloody expensive drinking alcohol for sure, it's nice to see a young chap like you not drinking but rather spending his money on Chinese circuit-boards and old Vitara's 8)

Yes the chinese circuit boards and old vitaras can be remembered, unlike drink even if you do manage to have a good time while drunk it wont be remembered. Indeed its bleeding expensive, ive seen the price of vodka shots, that could buy me a roll of solder, and a bulk order of chinese microchips. Smoking also seems like quite an expensive hobby, but im suprised at the lack of people who smoke cigars, they seem quite good value there seems to be more smoke off one cigar than the packet of cigs.

Right now I'm drinking Abbot Ale. (Never normally during the week, but its the last week before Christmas.)

Coffee (beans and grinder) in the morning, and tea (leaves and pot) in the afternoon -- Darjeeling at the moment.

I've stopped drinking at home (except this week, obviously), as it got to the stage where I could finish a bottle of wine in a single sitting and then start on the whisky. There was also a big boozing culture in my previous job, and I'm trying to shift the consequential belly.

I think the original question was about beer: IPA (Greene King is not IPA) and other pale ales like Theakstones and Black Sheep.
Timothy Taylor's is nice, but is a bit flowery -- not a good 'session' beer.

I loved koelsch (and lots of gluhwein) when I was in Aachen, but can't stand the witch-piss that passes for larger in England.

G&T, nice with bitters.
Whisky -- love a peaty single malt.
Port -- tawny.

what amazes me about alcohol is some people namely my friends can drink more vodka in 1 hour than i drink water in a week.
